My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I recently debated the most overrated and underrated rock musicians of the past couple decades with a buddy, this is the list (combined) we came up with:

Most Overrated (does not mean IMO they necessarily suck): Bob Dylan, Coldplay, AC/DC, Dave Matthews, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Moody Blues, Def Leppard, Doors, Reo Speedwagon

Most Underrated: Radiohead, Thin Lizzy, Gaslight Anthem, Peter Gabriel
Personally, I would also add The Beatles and Nirvana to the list of "Most Overrated". I also know I risk being shot for saying so. And, like your statement, I don't necessarily think they suck, I just think they came along at the right time and are remembered more for starting a wave of music rather than being damned good musicians.

Bands like AC/DC get so popular that a good performance doesn't even matter, people just want to see their favorite band in person and get drunk in many cases.

Summer is here for sure. I've been getting emailed bombed the past month from all the Denver stops about thier lineups this year. So far, only four shows purchased:

1. Dmb-2 nights at Fiddlers Green. Come on, you knew that was coming.
2. Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks with special guest foreign ****** I cannot remember.
3. Steve Miller Band-red rocKS
4. Barenaked Ladies/Violent Femmes-red rocks. Ugh.

Dmb overrated? Overplayed 90s singles? Sure, but overrated? LOL LOL

Radiohead and Tool are the two worst shows live. Felt like I was listening to the studio album with shittier vocals. No improv, no creativity at all.

Usually when fossils like AC/DC tour, it may be the last time they do it, so that hype created demand.
I'm seeing Rush this summer, probably for the last time, because they're old too and I can think of better ways to spend $80 in the future (nosebleeds at the UC).

Yup. The potential for the last show can keep some bands going. Seeing Rush too as I know it will be my last time.

As far as AC/DC, it has to be the booze and the drugs and they have not had anything interesting since "For Those About to Rock"....those the boobs during "She's Got the Jack" is interesting.

Those def leppard albums are some of the greatest produced of all time imo.

I've only seen Tool twice and it was pretty shitty.

Radiohead was the exact opposite. saw multiple shows on various tours and no show was the same.

Bah humbug!

The dynamic duo of Martin Birch and Iron Madien bested everything Def Leppard churned out. I was never that big of a metal head, but The Number of the Beast was the apex of metal production.

That shit is awesome too. I don't really consider Def Leppard to be metal at all though, ever.

I just like the multitrackness of those Mutt Lange productions for Leppard. There are so many layers and blends it's really pretty amazing. It was pretty groundbreaking too, you can attribute success of three piece bands like Greenday to the techniques employed on those Leppard albums.

Tool is not about the Improv and more about the artistry of the music/song.

Kind of like Skinny Puppy, which is one of my fav's watch live.

And with that I loved DMB live (overrated music, but a very fun live band).

Holy SHIT.

Skinny Puppy.

That was one of my all time favorite shows.

I just listened to some tracks off "The Process" the other night after not listening to anything by them in ages and am still impressed with how amazing their sound is. Something from 20 years ago still sounds fresh (less intense than when I first heard it, but still fresh)

I think I have to incorporate that shit back into my playlists...
