In fall tour 95? I think I was at that show. They did some acoustic songs and shit too if I am remembering the same one.
I also saw the Star Wars symphony tour when it stopped at the UC in Chicago. That was cool as hell.

ohhh you def need Mozarts Requiem in D minor. Not upbeat...well it's beat heavy with certain movements the man loved to put his "oooomphs" in there so yah. But it's dark, it's layered, it's scary, it's soothing, it's a spectacle. ITS THE GREATEST 56 MINUTES IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC!!
I mean that also. It's my favourite composition ever. Funny thing though...he never finished it so what does that say about me being a Mozart fan? My favourite work of his is one that he didn't finish himself lol. But it's good if you ever have the 56 minutes to spare and are just looking to chill out look at a moon for an hour or something. Yah sounds sissy but it's something I do all the time. Classical just has that ability to stop the moments for me and I have really started to like more and more classical over the years. Not an expert in it by any means..i can't talk the talk but I know I like classical now and have enjoyed finding pieces now and just listening to the compositions and the layerings. Something pretty amazing about bringing strings and winds and percussions etc etc all together to create remarkable movement. Pretty fucking awesome and a nice change from the standard bass, guitar, drums and vocals.
I was lucky enough to see Alice In Chains during their first tour. Well west coast tour when they opened for slayer, megadeth and anthrax. They werent big enough to do the full usa swing. Alice In Chains were not warmly welcomed at that show by the thrash metal fans. They had to put up with a lot of shit being thrown at them and Layne did well to throw shit back like a champ including his shoes. He picked off a fan in the head pretty good.
I had never heard of them until seeing them open the show and Layne impressed me so much i went and bought Facelift right away and actually really liked it. That was the exact moment I knew there was a new movement in music coming. We all know what happened on the west coast (although chains were always the heavier of the " grundge" and pacific north west movement). Still know loads of metal fans who haaaaate Alice In Chains but I was drawn right to them from that concert. That to me is one of the best concerts i have ever been too. Also because Megadeth fucking killed it that night, Anthrax stoled the show believe it or not and Slayer was actually a giant failure which made me laugh at the Slayer marks who were the biggest fucking douchebag pretentious thrash metal fans ever.
Never had a chance to see Chains before Layne died and have considered seeing them now but not sure I could get past the gaping hole up front. Feel the same away about STP with their new whiny voiced front man Chester. Layne and Scott are guys you can't just replace and while that might not be fair to the new guys, it is what it is.
Yah not just Laynes voice but his charisma on stage also. Impossible to replace that. Not a fan of Chains stuff after Layne passed. Not horrible but has lost that extra punch. STP was a good group but never fully got into them. I was a bit of a pretentious music dickhead at that time also and saw STP as a Chains knock off band. But those are the things one think when they are a pretentious asshole like I was with music. Not like that anymore I really like some of the older Stone Temples stuff now a lot. Hate to think how many other good bands I ignored at that time because I was a ****. Probably a lot.
Cantrell's solo albums are tits. Also, as far as the new chains. He does a TON of the singing and he and Layne always sounded a lot alike.

You guys see my qello thread? Pretty cool if you are into watching live performances.
It was around that time but I think it was 97. There was a big ice storm so it was hard getting there. We kept passing VW buses that had flipped over.
How did AC/DC manage to sellout Wrigley?. I saw them from the 5th row during their prime, and they weren't very good back then. I have never seen a rock band improve with age, they are as old as my parents.
Yet Stone Temple Pilots at the house of blues still has remaining tics, a more talented group in a more intimate setting.
Anyone going to any upcoming summer shows?...got STP and Alan Parsons tics to look forward to.
OMG Alan Parsons?! I'm jealous as hell.
