That's true. I remember following him a bit when he was with the Icehogs and he struggled quite a bit behind their D, so that definitely is a possible factor. He can't do it all by himself.

he is frustrating though, always out of position which alot of the PSD members know....that is my biggest pet peeve with a goaltender.

stan bowmans offseason that everyone raved about is showing its true colors. you have toews getting rocked and no one helping out at all. this supposed grindiness is non existent. Brunette is bad, he has no net presence, slow and board battles are bad, odonnell sucks, montador is serviceable, carcillo did nothing. He needs to shore up the D with a 2/3 instead of 5/6 depth and that 2nd line center that we never got is now catching up to us. scotty bowman said on the pregame that we dont need to look far for our defense with olsen now being here, that better be a smoke screen.

Maybe this needs to go in the vent thread...Leddy was a compete screwing the pooch by not putting him in situations to succeed. While there's plenty of blame to go around, they did add grit by signing Carcillo, Mayers, Monty, and OD. Carcillo did not "do nothing" before getting hurt. OD (he's like 40, right) was the only guy who jumped in the fracas when Toews was getting popped by Thornton--he brings what he can (which, is...well, you know). I expected more physicality out of Monty--which begs the question:

Maybe the lack of toughness is more so a reflection of the philosophy of the team (coaching)?

teams are obviously isolating and intimidating the likes of toews. dressing scott on the 4th line for the next game wouldnt be a bad idea as much as i think he isnt good.
