You fit in fine at CCS.Yeah but it's extremely diluted. People here think I sound Scottish, people in Scotland think I sound American. I fit in nowhere

It was a nature preserve attached to Fermilab..People used to picnic and hike there. It had a creek that ran right thru it as well. Maybe its closed now. I would go run the dog there and then me and my wife and the dog would go get a malt at Al's Creamery in St. Charles till it moved to ElginI'm not sure what you're referring to (haven't heard the term "Rocky Glen" other than the park outside of Scranton, PA).

From the pics I've seen, the countryside is absolutely gorgeous..Plus, I love that accent they have..Just gotta be careful not to get too close or ya get spit on when they talk..lol
Wolves are so protected in New Mexico that if you kill one without a permit you'll be going away for a very long time.
You're right, I think the reaction from farmers and ranchers is mostly emotional. That number for deaths of cattle in Montana due to weather looks ridiculously high. Where did you find it? That's amazing.
While I'm a gun and hunting advocate in general, I think most reactions to wolf kills are a bit emotional. People around here hate wolves and want them gone for good, and I think it's based (subconsciously or not) in them wanting a better chance at a big Bull Elk. I think wolves were credited with between 300-400 elk kills this year, down something like 9% from last year.
Regarding Mick and others discussing the size of a wolf...they are big. Yeah, they're the size of a large dog but they are built different. There heads and paws and rib cages are huge, so while they may be the weight of a big domesticated dog the SEEM much bigger and they carry that weight differently. Because of that, people who have seen them up close and in person tend to have an exaggerated opinion of how big they are.
Oh, and Mick...do you have a Scottish accent at all?
Mutts get a bad rap. This guy was defending the fact his dog is a mutt. He said with different breeds you get different distinct qualities but with mutts you get all those qualities in 1. The moral is mutts are elite.I can't turn either side off. I'm stuck with life as a mutt.
