Oh, and Mick...do you have a Scottish accent at all?

Yeah but it's extremely diluted. People here think I sound Scottish, people in Scotland think I sound American. I fit in nowhere :(

Well, my first few years were on a U.S. military base in the west of Scotland, then I went to Edinburgh and went to school there, then moved to Illinois in 2000, when I was 23.

Is that why you always act like you are better than all Americans?

The accent is very weak, as you'll hear when I call into X's radio show. I was a bears fan long before I moved here though. I grew up with American sports. I moved here with my ex (American). We were discussing the possibility of her moving to Scotland since she kinda wanted to, but with me already being a US citizen, it was much easier for me to move.

I loved Scotland, going to go back next year. Stayed 2 nights in Edinburgh, 4 in Stirling (my friend was living there) and 2 in Glasgow. Started out in London and took a train ride up to Edinburgh, which was an absolutely beautiful experience looking out at the coast.

Went up in a couple of castles, drank a bunch of pints and some whiskey, ate some haggis, had a Scottish munchie box after a night of clubbing in Glasgow, and everybody I met was super cool. The only thing that was strange was the weather. I didn't get a very Scottish experience because it was sunny and in the 80s the entire visit.

Another tidbit I found pretty amazing - people there really know how to garden. Working class folks have front "yards" that would rival any millionaire's landscaping here in the states.

I've been to Scotland . . . at Busch Gardens.

I've been to London, seen seven wonders...

I never made it to Scotland, Wales or Ireland, sadly. I really like the Celtic culture that's survived.

Can you turn that accent on and off? I knew a girl from England who could do that and that guy who played House on TV could too.

I live two blocks from Fermilab, so I hear/see the ******* constantly (the grounds of Fermi are basically a large forest/prairie reserve complete with buffalo and such). They're the primary reason I don't let my cat out and my friends don't leave their dogs out for extended periods.

Does Fermilab still have "Rocky Glen"?..I used to go there with my dog when I lived in Chicago..It was a nice place to let him run

I can't turn either side off. I'm stuck with life as a mutt.

I'm not sure what you're referring to (haven't heard the term "Rocky Glen" other than the park outside of Scranton, PA).
