When was the last time a goaltender shutout the other team in the Cup clinching game?
Suck it!

Yeah, Crawford had a great game last night and now has his 2nd cup of his career.
Chris Osgood also has 2 cups as a starter.

I think Tim Thomas did it in game 7 when Boston won.
Why marginalize it?Crow did his job, but let's not pretend that the defense and forwards weren't saving shots at open cages, and that Tampa wasn't whiffing on one-timers to open cages. They put on mega pressure and only put 25 on net.

Crow did his job, but let's not pretend that the defense and forwards weren't saving shots at open cages, and that Tampa wasn't whiffing on one-timers to open cages. They put on mega pressure and only put 25 on net. The last three games were team defensive efforts, some very good goaltending, and a bit of puck luck.
As BHP said, there was ther Stamkos breakaway, as well as the save late that he caught inches above his pad late that was one of the best I've seen this series.I could just as well ask "why exaggerate it"? I think I'm putting it in the proper context.
My opinion of Crow is pretty much the same as when he became the starter: generally solid netminder that gets streaky (which works both ways) with a few irritating attributes. For one, he drops to the butterfly too early too often. It's something that they should work on but seems kind of engrained in him by this point. The other thing that bugs me is he's almost guaranteed to make one uber blonde play a night -- whether it be an inadvisable trip out of the net, leaving the post early/not hugging it properly, or just straight up whiffing on what should be easy saves. I can never tell if it's a concentration thing or if he is just having mini-strokes out there.
That said, they can obviously win with him and pretty much the only reason to even consider moving on from him is his cap hit. But, honestly, it is pretty much on par with his "ranking" amongst goaltenders anyways (his hit is tied for 7th).

The same D that hung him out to dry in the Nashville series.
Glad Keith used his superpowers to make Stamkos miss on the breakaway last evening.
I think some people will have the opinion that Crawford is good because of the D in front of him. Some nights you would be correct. But that's the case for all netminders.
Anyone telling yoy Crawford single-handedly carried the team to victory is giving you the full fist. He didn't. He's a part of that vistory just like everyone else and shouldn't be marginalized. In the same vein if he merely "did his job", then the same could be said of every other skater in his salary classI included "very good goaltending" in that list of things that happened last night. A lot of other things did, too.
I don't get the irrational defense mechanism that kicks in around here if someone doesn't agree that Crow single handedly carried the team to victory.
Crawford has had some great moments, and some really shitty ones...
Toews has had some great moments, and some really shitty ones...
Are both also very true--but I'm not going to marginalize their play by claiming they're expendible or that they can't have an off night.Ketih has had some great moments, and some really shitty ones...
