I take it you haven't been near Wrigley at all to say that. The stereotypes of scrubs fans are most definitely true. Along with most people are scrubs fans because that's the cool thing to do.
Also, scrubs fans on a message board are not the same as real life, in your face, scrubs fans. Those are the one's I'm talking about.
See, here's where you're incorrect as well. I've met at least a dozen former posters from cubs.com, one was a former employer of mine. These people were all the same offline, and fairly consistent in "real life" to their postings.
There will always be those who use the internet to say things they could never get away with in person or don't have the balls to say in person. They exist everywhere, and are fans of every team. These are the ones to avoid on the internet b/c their sole purpose is to draw you into their own twisted and unrealistic views. Some people are on the internet b/c they are handicapped as well, unable to enjoy life as we are. They are bitter, angry, and jealous...and the internet is their only means to feel in control when their lives are a mess. I've seen men going through divorces use sports MB's to attack women...trust me I've seen it all.
I avoid Wrigley for a number of reasons, a few of which you mentioned. But the real reason is my lack of general interest in baseball, it bores the shit out of me unless I'm playing. In fact, the last time I went some mouthy WS fan on the Cubs MB said he was going to kick my ass. I gave him the time, gate number etc. He didn't show...they never do.
