Guess Maholm will have to drop his ERA under 4 in his next start assuming he doesn't suck.
In seriousness though the Cubs are starting to develop some nice trade pieces with Dempster and now Maholm stablizing as starting pitchers on one year deals.
dempster is worth a look for a contender. LaHair as well. Its too bad that Soriano isnt going to be dealt as it looks like he has lost his power. Marmol is a no go for any team unless the money gets eaten, and you cant trade wood the team mascot. I do infact see Garza being dealt.
This is what is nice to see about these performances right now. Dempster pitching like a Cy Young candidate means that we might be able to get some nice pieces for him. If Maholm can get and keep his era under 4, there is always going to be a market for left handed starters that can actually pitch. Garza should net us the actual pieces to build around the core of Castro, Rizzo, and Jackson.
Marmol is going to be with us this year and next more than likely. The Cubs might as well pitch and hope he can rebound. If he does maybe we can ge ta team to pay his salary next year. Soriano is going to be DFA'd at some point. Whether it is this year or next, that is going to be the way that mistake is going to end.
Id take him if he could play 2b. too bad players get old
Did Uman make the next series thread yet?
oh boy. Another series win and threads will start stating they can contend right now.
No, but I refuse to even attempt to make a thread because it would pale in comparison to the glory that is a UMan IST. That and we are kind of on a streak. I won't be the one to jinx it.
Not until we're one game over .500!
So a week from now
