Out of the box he was watching the ball. Started hard about 3/4 way to 1B

Yeah, that's probably a sign to the 3B coach that you probably shouldn't send him...it was a good risk though. Would've been nice if Castro had been able to dance around the tag.

I don't know. I only saw the replay on gameday. But Heyward has a cannon and the ball beat Castro by 5 or 6 steps.

Good relay by Uggla, which was unexpected.

I really wish Maholm wouldn't leave that "fast" ball up like that.

I can sort of see why they would want to swing at the first pitch if it's in the zone. Hudson's been pounding the strike zone all day.

I think you go with bullpen as Maholm is coming back from injury and is too close to 100+ pitches (he's at 95). Maybe let him get the pitcher/pinch-hitter out, but the bullpen needs to be up and running.
