What has Coleman been hitting on the gun? I've thought that if he gets put in the pen he might gain a f3ew ticks on the fastball which would make his stuff that much more effective.

So that would be about 3 or 4 mph faster than as starter because he was usually 89-90 frlom my recollection.

Every pitcher usually throws harder in pen then starting cause they can air it out in the pen.

He can keep starting as long as he gets on base but he doesn't have a spot ocnce Jackson is ready since none of them can really play right (lahair, campy, jackson).

Technically they could move Jackson to RF but because DeJesus is a more patient leadoff hitter they'd leave him there.

I know it is easy to explain but with a guy like Coleman that difference might be between between being a below average starter and an effective reliever.

It gives you an extra edge because of the difference in velocity between your "power" stuff and the off-speed stuff so adds to the deception against batters.
