The money given to them was given by Hendry. Zambrano quit on the team last year. Byrd was batting about .140 when he was traded. How does having them here keep fans here?
And, the Cubs have been bad before. ppl will still come to games. They may not be sellouts, but it'll be far from "a ghost town", too.

I think the point is that Cubs keep eating so all of the money and getting shitty players back. Cubs will seell 35K+ tickets every game but only 15-25K will show up.
