Double play means Wood still hasn't given up a hit and faced the minimum through 4, but Wood hitting Theriot means that the streak of batters retired ended at 10.

I figure Sveum wants to try to keep LaHair as a bench weapon but I agree that he should probably think of Baker's spot as a double-switch spot or just let him take the last half of the game off.

Mather or Clevenger could get out there and leave LaHair on the bench.

They need him to play to try to move him. Also they don't have that many right handed sticks on the roster that they can't really rest him against a lefty.

yeah but whether he is playing well or not the cubs are still going to be eating the salary and not getting much back.
