SP helps keep them in 1 run games. With offense being so bad Cubs are always involved in low scoring games

I agree, but I guess that is what I am getting at. As bad as this team is they are in a lot of ball games. That is encouraging.

The Cubs have now been held to one run or less five times over the last 11 games.

The Cubs have now scored 90 runs over their 34 defeats, which is an average of just 2.6 runs per defeat

Ouch

Another horrible line-up chose:

Campy
Barney
Castro
Soriano
Baker
Stewart
Johnson
Hill
:(

Also Dempster not with Cubs, back in Chicago dealing with personal issues.

It doesn't matter what the order they bat in as long as the Cubs have only a few guys capable of putting up over a 100 OPS+.

It's kind of funny when the pitcher is potentially a better hitter than the #8 guy

I think you can remove potentially from that statement. At least Wood is pitching in a ballpark that suits him.

Nice inning from Wood. I really don't mind him as the fifth starter any time besides when the wind is blowing out at Wrigley.

Only teams not to be shut out yet this season:

D'Backs - later on tonight
Tigers - avoided shutout in loss
Indians - coming back against Twins
Giants - stay tuned

Ump giving the outside of the zone but not the inside to righties apparently. Wood a real nice first 2 innings.

Nice hustle from T. Wood but he couldn't beat the throw.
