Even though the game was rained out, I still had a pretty nice time. I got to meet the Reds' GM Walt Jocketty and Jay Bruce, Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, Scott Rolen, Bronson Arroyo and Sean Marshall. Gotta say Jay Bruce is a really classy guy and Phillips is hilarious. I'll be back in Cincy for tomorrow afternoon's game. Hopefully that one doesn't get postponed. Haha

Well to answer my question about DeWitt starting apparently it was matchups like Rice suggested. DeWitt has a career .360 average with 2 HRs against Arroyou compared to Barney's 1 for 7 lifetime.

Splitfinger fastballs are a fun pitch to watch when they are working.

I am not an expert on baserunning, but I really couldn't find the mistake by Castro on the pickoff. Arroyo's throw was perfect because the shortstop basically caught it and tagged him at the same time. I guess Castro was caught a little flat footed, but that was a really good play by Arroyo.

or try to snare some prospects

Look if teams want to dangle some top 100 prospects for LaHair then I would love it, but I doubt we get anything more than Abner Abreu type prospects until he really shows that this is more than a hot month or two.
