i will do.. i know for sure there be some SP i spend money on.. if they can sign 2 big time FA SP and keep Garza Cubs SP be stacked for next 5-7 years.

A lot of those SP are probably going to be extended by their parent clubs before they hit free agency. Good luck with that.

We dont know that. Hamels and Cain due to hit FA this year. Why would they resign now that FA so close? Greinke another FA SP this year that could hit market.

We don't know that they'll hit the market either. What's your contingency plan if nobody is available?

2013 MLB Free Agents: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

C: no one i like
1B: no one i like, Rizzo we hope be ready
2B: Aybar listed as SS but i think he be nice addition..only 29
SS: Castro not leaving
3B: no one i like
LF: no one i like
CF: Jackson should be fine
RF: Either i like alot. OBP machine against RHP

SP:Cain 28, Greinke 28, Hamels 29, big 3 i love. So this offseason if they can get 2 of those SP , Aybar for 2B and Either for RF then could have compeitive team next year

Soto C
Rizzo 1B
Aybar 2B 5-7 mil for 3-4 yrs
Stewart/Vitters 3B
Castro SS
Sori LF
Jackson CF
Either RF 10-12 mil 3-4 yrs

SP1: Hamels 5 yrs 18 mil
SP 2: Cain 5 yrs 18 mil
SP 3: Garza (extend him 5 yrs 12 mil)
SP 4: Wood/Volstad
SP 5: Volstad/Wood

Payroll be around 150 mil. Again in my mind i think Cubs should be around the 150 mil area. 3rd largest market team in baseball shouldnt have problem with that..

https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tt7HjIernphaSrv4wMWdUYg&output=html

2013 only 33 mil that is on payroll. Again i know this dont count ARB guys. Garza be around 10-12 mil (hopefull extension done) Soto be around 5.5 mil, Wells and Volstad 3.5 mil each, Shark 3 mil, Stewart 3 mil, Castro 2 mil (1st ARB so not much) Russell 1 mil

so around 35 mil in ARB so 35 mil + 33 mil 68 mil.. So if they have payroll around 150 mil like i think Big Market should then they could have 80 mil to spend in FA

if none hit the market then just keep going as is. I dont overpay for anything. i pay for studs in FA market that are young..if you notice all those guys under 30 besides Either who 31. Unless there teams give them legit FA money they will be hitting market

Yea i actually just listened to it on my phone lol

il make argument that just cause players young dont mean they be good. Again how many teams have we seen that have rebuilt on top of a rebuilt. Again i hope it works. I really do. I just feel bad for fans that have been waiting around year after year to see team win. Now were telling them sorry but team going to suck until we get so many hits in draft. We have no idea how long that will take. Could take 3-5 yrs which be great but could take 10-20 which how long it takes most rebuilding teams. I just want to follow the blue print from the best MLB team history. Thats NYY

Uhhh...No it doesn't.

STFU clueless one.

Hey dumbass. the Yankees won most of their Championships with homegrown players. Since they started paying out Arod Giambi etc they haven't been as successful as they were in the mid to late 90's with home grown guys surrounded by some solid, but not insanely paid vets.

Look at the core of those Yankee's teams in the late 90's and early 2000's when they were winning 4 in 6 years. The core players were guys like Jeter, Posada, Petitie, Mo, Bernie etc. They had some guys like Tino and Paul ONeill there but those weren't MASSIVE free agent signings.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

The Red Sox have been one of the best teams of the last decade under Theo and Co that's how the Cubs are being built.

Deal with it.

it works.

D3A's argument is Special person. The Cubs opening the pocket books with the real exception of Soriano wasn't going out and signing new guys it was offering gigantic contracts and NTC's to resign the current players that were the "low pay roll" team he said the Cubs weren't winning with. Nice work. The only HUGE money the Cubs spent to bring in players from the outside was Soriano(lulz), Fukdome(luLZ) and Bradley(LULZ) most of the other money the Cubs "increased" payroll with had nothing to do with how the Yankees runs things and paying out the ass for free agents. it was signing guys already on the team like A-Ram, Lee, Demp, Zambrano, etc to huge extensions.

Nice work failing though.

But yeah let's just keep saying Rickett's is cheap desptie paying a shit load of money to bring in Theo and Co. THEN wanting to dump 1/2 billion into Wrigley..then going fter Soler for around 27 million...THEN building an academy in the DR..THEN paying a bunch of money to a Cuban pitcher.

Nice work D3A. You've killed all intelligence in this thread.

I'm glad you made that point, I'd neglected to mention that, so kudos.

It's amazing. It's like D3A never actually watches baseball or knows anything about the sport.

He wants the Cubs to go out and spend a sht load of money..despite the fact that each time they have spent a ton of money on players outside the team...............it has ended up being epic fail. Rickett's has had to come in and clean that up. Rickett's not spending money right away was smart. He was aso incredibly smart for not letting Hendry do anything more and waiting until he had guys that know how to spend money in house to do the job.

I just realized that I included your first sentence in my quote above. I don't actually think d3a is Special person...I just think he's narrow-minded and misinformed. Take it for what you will.

Teams that have basically stunk for the past 20 seasons:
Tigers
Royals
Devil Rays (Better since becoming Rays :) )
Orioles
Nationals
Brewers
Reds
Rockies

Honorable Mention Marlins (did win two WS)

Never would have guessed this, the most successful based on .500 seasons are NYY, BOS, STL, and .....HOU

I watch more baseball in 1 year then prolly you have your whole live. I am lucky enough to be stay at home dad and get to catch 140+ Cub games a year. I also get extra inning package and watch prolly another 140+ game around MLB per year. I watch spring training games out the ass. I played baseball for 16 years. I pitched college baseball and had to give it up cause of my daughter was born with turner syndrome and hosptilized for first 10 months of her life, trached for her first 2 years of here life. I pitched in the low 90's. I can still throw in mid 80's. I understand baseball more then i do live. Baseball is my life. I just have an opinion on how i think Cubs should be ran just like you have opinion on how they should be ran. Only time will tell who is right or wrong. I pray that the way Cubs going is the right way. I just feel teams that spend year in and year out make the playoffs the most and have better chance of winning WS. If you dont make playoffs you cant win WS. I have see where Cubs dont spend money and dont make playoffs. I have seen where they spent money and got into playoffs 2 straight years and was in fight in 2009. Now in last 3 years payroll has gone down and team has gotten worse. Again just my opinion but i think its cause Cubs havent put legit MLB talent on the field. Now if i was a fan of small or even medium market then i would change my opinion how team should be ran. Teams like KCR, PIT, TBR have to build in farm. Cubs should be able to build farm and be competitive every year espicially when 3 mil fans come to park year in and year out. Again i really am getting tired of being called names for just having an opinion. I dont mind having disagreement but stop getting pissed off cause i have different opinion. Your not going to change my mind and im not going to change your mind. All we can do is throw out that facts and see how things go.

i am very open minded. i just have opinion how i think Cubs should be ran. You have your opinion. Im far from misinformed. I listen to the same spill you guys here. I read same articles you guys do. Some fans fall for it while others dont. Think about it most fans on forums are 25 or younger. So you dont care if they rebuild. Fans older dont want to see team rebuilding. They want to see winner now. Not wait 3-5 yrs to see if they do it right. If they fail which is a high probability then fans have to wait another 5-10 years. It just be one cycle after another.

:lmao: you brought up the 2 teams that spent the most money in baseball. So again spending money wins over not spending
