and in two years we'll complain about how little we got for him and the Cubs didn't try to maximize his out put and he was just traded b/c he wasn't performing at the time and the management was trying to rid themselves from all things Hendry.

Don't think anyone said to deal Castro now for nothing, but way to make a FirstTimerian leap in "logic."

Plus we should be talking about trading Castro in the "Trade Castro" thread

He wouldn't be that bad if the team was better around him.

But there is something wrong with the core.

Castro: .235 career avg: .288
Soriano: .249 career .277

Then you fill in with platoons of unproven starters and UI's that should be UI's. (Barney)

A "good" plan is have proven vets carry the work load while the untested adjust to the pitching.

Not

Have the untested be the core while have 1 over the hill vet (Sori) be the fall guy while fill in with NO proven vet leadership.

If there is any fault it is on the dumb asses that put this train wreck together.

But dont worry, Theo and Hoyer are smarter then you.... just ask them.

As long as they have a good plan of attack, the poor baseball should be coming to an end shortly. The kids will start rising thru the system quickly, the renovation will take place, and the days of last place will be a distant memory.

Has anyone heard anything on Bryant? Would like the Cubs to get him locked in so we can see how he transitions with a wooden bat and tougher pitching.

I would venture to guess they are getting close. Keith Law thinks Bryant is going to get the biggest bonus in the draft. He said the Cubs knew the area of what it wold take to sign him before they drafted him so Im guessing they are nailing down the specifics.
