while i do agree he is a good manager...his teams are also 1-9 in their last 10 playoff games
What are those "playoff games" thing you are talking about?

I don't seem to remember any one of the teams with forums above dealing with those "playoff games" recently.

I'm certain nobody referred to that season as great. People mightve said the team exceeded expectations
My point was this team had enough talent to make the playoffs. They had more talent than Arizona or Miami, for damn sure.

Strong chance Jed Hoyer agreed with that assessment based on today’s move.

I'd guess hoyer was looking to place blame because I think he's pretty squarely on the hot seat with Ricketts as they've made it clear since last offseason he has whatever resources he needs.

Having said all that, counsell is a good hire

I mean ross beat expectations(think the vegas line to start the season was 75 wins). He's not a terrible manager. I don't particularly care they went another direction either. I don't really feel like managers make much difference in baseball. Having said that, i tend to agree with those who are saying this sorta hints at the cubs going for big splashes in fa/trades. In terms of counsell, I haven't really watched MIL enough to comment on whether he's truly good or not. I always had the impression that David Stearns was the reason for their success in particular building their pitching.

Several people here called me an idiot when I said Ross was done for after that collapse, just remembering that. Said it’d be crazy to fire someone who had such a great season.
Name them.

My take away from this is the CBT better not stop the Cubs from going after a guy. They still have to spend wisely and not drunken sailor, but if you oust the manager you just spent the last month talking up and pay his replacement 8M a year, you better be willing to spend in other places.

If cubs are truly going to be this aggressive, you’ve got to think anything is on the table, as @Chicagosports89 said

Can’t rule out a trade for Soto and a trade for Alonso even

So what’s your dream offseason? Not what you think will happen, but all out scenario(within some realm of possibility)

Lol @ this dweeb following me around disliking every post I make in any forum. You sure do have lots of free time, loser
Fact check: The first 20 dislikes between our accounts were you disliking mine.

Sorry you were wrong about David Ross. I figured you’d be used to this, you’re wrong about almost every sports take I’ve ever seen you have on this forum. You could just listen to people who know what they’re talking about rather than being so bitter.

Best of luck, little man.

Believe it does, also think the cubs overachieved this season Ross should get credit for that.
Cubs lost their playoff spots to the dbacks and the marlins, two teams with less talent than the Cubs roster.

Glad Hoyer saw the blatant mistakes Ross was making and made an expensive upgrade. It was needed to take the next step forward.

Brewers fans are having a full meltdown, and most other NL central fans are in crisis mode. Favorite comment from a Pirates fan on an MLB reddit thread:
We peaked when NL Central competition was crazy and now right when the window might open again the Cubs remember they have money.

Lol it doesn’t surprise me that you have a false sense of reality.

Shouldn’t you be posting more about sexual abuse at bars or something? That seems like your sweet spot. Baseball and football, not so much.

Your posting style seems awfully familiar. Or maybe I’m just confusing you with one of the other handful of grade school level posters on here

Try it. You’ll feel better.
