Officially my favorite day of the year -- Opening Day is truly a blessing. Can't wait to see what 2014 has in store for the sports team that means more to me than anything in the world.

"Hey Chicago, what do ya' say? The Cubs are gonna' win today!"

Considering the Cubs are facing a lefty to start off the series, is it too early to say "Wait till' next year"?

I am with CSF and say 1 game.

I think they take one game in this series. Which one? Beats me.

Though we did take two out of three in Pittsburgh to open up the season last year...

Opening Day Lineup
CF Emilio Bonifacio
LF Junior Lake
SS Starlin Castro
1B Anthony Rizzo
3B Mike Olt
C Welington Castillo
RF Nate Schierholtz
2B Darwin Barney
P Jeff Samardzija

I'm a little surprised Justin Ruggiano isn't in the starting lineup today, given his .256/.328/.506 slash line against lefties in his career.

I personally would have moved Lake down to the sixth or seventh spot in the order and moved everyone else up a spot. Just my opinion.

GREAT to see Mike Olt in the starting lineup.

I dont think Renteria plans to be like Sveum. ITs opening day and Nate is our best RF. I think he deserves to be in there and try to be an everyday player. Sveum juggling of lineups so much was really bothersome to me,

With this lineup the sweep is in.

There are a lot of question marks in that lineup. I could see this lineup doing very well over the next 2-3 months or being complete garbage. They should be above average defensively and they have bit of speed. If Castro can hit ~300 again and Olt and Rizzo show power...........

The best part of opening day. The Cubs don't have a losing record and players have a chance to not suck.

Unless he has scheduled a lobotomy I don't think he does planning on being like Sveum.
