Lirano looking sharp early for the Bucos. Really nice pitch sequence against Olt to get that punchout.

He's good at working his pitches off the plate at a sequence that lends itself to the ball off the plate being called...did a good job in that AB.

Even for the Cubs, I am so excited. I'm watching meaningful baseball.

Castro w/ some defensive awareness! Duking Marte into thinking that ball was in play!! And a great throw by Bonifacio, as well!

Not sure if I'm loving the line up with Castro hitting 3rd and Lake 2nd. Ah well.

I'd much rather see Lake down in the six hole and Castro batting second, but meh -- I'm not the manager :dunno:

He'll tinker w/ it for a while - pretty sure this was the first line-up he's ever filled out as a major league manager.

I agree. I can't remember who came up with it but they did a ideal line up construction and value of hitters:

1 and 4 hitters held the highest value. Followed by the #2 hitter.

#3 was not as valued as more AB's a #3 hitters sees is 2 outs and no men on base. While a #4 hitter means some one got on.

#6 was valued as a speed/power combo as he can lead off a inning and be put into RBI situations.
