Been a fun game regardless. Would like to get this run in w/ Sweeney.

Sweeney had his chance -- swung right through that fastball. Might as well set that fucking thing on a tee. Cubs have had chance after chance today and haven't came through.

We're going to go 17 innings at this rate. Damn! Our blowpen will probably blow it first.

on the bright side, the defense and the pitching have been great for the Cubs today. As someone said earlier, pitchers are usually ready earlier than batters...it's a process. I'd like to win this one, though.

Wow.... great sequence by Grimm. That was a big K after giving up a lead-off walk. He really does have solid stuff. Just another guy on the laundry list who needs to put his tools together.

Sucks he got picked off but him getting off to a good start is really positive. If he can put up another season like 2011(think that's the right year) it would go a long way for the cubs.

Good pitching. Bad hitting. The Cubs were horrendous with runners in scoring position last year. This year has started out the same.

Never want to see a loss but at least they were competitive against a quality team. Castro, Rizzo and Olt a combined 0-10 leaves a lot to be desired. I liked Lake and Bonafacio at the top of the order. Not sure how I feel about Castro at 3 but it was only 1 game.

I don't like how Lake was looking to bunt that much when he has HR power.

I'll disagree with that. I like Castro hitting #2 and Lake #6.

But it was a LH starter so they dropped Schierholtz to 7. We will see how it shakes out vs a RH starter.

Agree about Lake bunting. I'm not sure where I think Castro should be. I like the speed they have with lake and bonifaco at the top of the line up. Castro has ok speed but I just worry his OBP is always going to hold him back as a top of the line up type. In some regards I like Castro in the 3 because it gives him 2 guys who in theory should get on base at a pretty decent clip and allow him to be aggressive at the play to drive them around in front of Rizzo. However, he's a very untraditional 3 hitter.
