Cubs lose 2 of 3
47 more losses to go until my Cubs pre-season prediction becomes reality (new addition to my sig maybe? Hmmm)
You may indeed be right, but it took the worst rash of injuries to the Cubs I have ever seen to make it possible. This team isn't good, but it shouldn't be as bad as it is either.
I looked up the stats earlier, and thought about writing something in detail about this but the Phils and the Cubs have scored virtually the same number of runs this year. The difference between these two teams is that the Phils have the best starting pitching in the NL and the Cubs have the worst (Phils lead in ERA, innings pitched, quality start percentage, and average game score while the Cubs are last in all of those categories). If this team didn't trot out Casey Coleman, Doug Davis, Rodrigo Lopez, Ramon Ortiz, and James Russell this team would easily be ten games better.
Still it is what it is, and at this point I am rooting for you to be right Rick because it makes it more likely that the organization will get an overhaul top to bottom and a high draft pick to go along with that. I just hope that the few good things in this organization aren't lost in the shakeup (international scouting particularly in Asia as one example).
