I like the Pirates. Perennial underdogs. I've always liked them in the NL.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Minnesota United FC
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
The Cubs will never get the first pick if they keep winning.

I was pulling for Pirates as a realistic team to win the division up until about 2 hours ago when they scored against my team and the fans started cheering and waving flags. **** any team besides my own.

Did I tell you how much I disliked the Marmol extension?

Not that he was a bad pitcher, but a closer on a shitty team makes no sense

Did you know that after today's win, and with Milwaukee and STL currently losing, the Pirates could be tied for first place at the end of tonight's action? Strange but true.

I fell asleep shortly after the Cubs went up 4-3 and woke up just now to see that they lost. Marshall and Marmol had a bad night apparently. The bleeding continues...

In my rounds on facebook, there was some blame on Castro not covering second on the infield single that scored two (wouldn't have mattered anyway), on Castro for not turning the double play in the 8th before the game-tying single (Pat and Keith said he was taken out but I couldn't find a replay) and then of course on Marmol for giving up the tying run and then the homer. Seems like a lot of blame-shifting when the fact is that this club isn't that good anyway.

For as much talent as Castro has on offense he has a long way to go on defense. He needs to dedicate this winter to working on his defense.

I think he dedicated last winter to working on his defense too hehehe. He's probably not going to stick at shortstop much longer, but the bat is nice to have. I think the first play that Barney had to make to throw to first was the only play he had because even if Castro were at 2B the guy might've been safe anyway (we'll never know), but the second play where he was taken out on the would-be double play attempt changed the momentum.

Yeah, I didn't see it because I fell asleep. Seems like typical shoddy play that we're used to seeing. There's no way he's going to stay at shortstop much longer, they're going to have to find a different position for him soon.

On the play, he did get slid into, but he could have still made the throw to 1st. He kind of just dropped his elbow and sailed it.

Haven't seen too many games this season, but the offense is looking sharp tonight.
