I actually just wrote an entire page long response to this and fucking lost it because the message board logged me out and I hit reply, only for the MB to tell me I was logged out and when I hit back, my whole fucking response was gone.

I'm not typing it again, bottom line was I don't agree with you and you can throw all the sabermetrics you want at me but it won't change my mind that this team was horrible from the start.

Un-fucking real, I just wasted the last half hour typing something for nothing.

Sorry dude.

I think there was an outside chance that every player would hit the upper end of their projections, but that's more wishful thinking than based on stats...the stats say that there was an X percent chance of contention, but hoping for that chance is sort of a fool's errand.

Sorry you typed it for nothing and you don't agree but for the record I used no sabermetric stats in this argument.

The cubs didn't lose much and got better in spots. Without injury ad with how bad this division is we would e right in the thick of things IMO.

I would have said 5-8% chance before the season.

How do you figure that?

Offensively:

Lee with a better 1B. (50 points better OPS)
Theriot with a better 2B. (50 points better OPS)

OPS is a sabermetric.
