Their could be some Killer "B's" coming to Chicago in the very near future.

Baez, Bryant,..............oh what the hell, Boler, Balmora, Balcantara, Bogelbach. :parrot:

What about the reincarnation of ABBA -- Almora, Bryant, Baez and Alcantara?

Are we allowed to talk about this HR since it was off a major league pitcher?

No, because it wasn't in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded off of Mariano Rivera in Game 7 of the World Series. That's the only time we can talk about a Cubs prospect doing something positive.

We can, I'll just remind everyone its still spring training and the Cubs still have the biggest dog at the MLB level playing SS.

Okay, then I'll just go ahead and make accounts on message boards for the other 29 MLB teams reminding them that there's no reason to be excited about anything until April.

Go ahead. I'm a Cub fan, I couldn't care less about the other 29 teams.

Just curious, wasn't Baez drafted by Jim Hendry?

Let's just get this out in the open... who here thinks that Hendry was an unmitigated disaster as the Cubs' GM?

I know I don't. Anyone else?

He was ok.. made both good and bad moves over his tenure here..
His downfall came when team got older and he couldn't move anyone due to no trade clauses / bad contracts and didn't have much in system to fill in.

Yeah, because this has any relevance to the conversation we're having about ceilings/skill sets/positional depth.....

This is a prime fucking example of all the negative bull shit you whiners throw out for the sake of starting an argument. Who fucking cares who was responsible for drafting Javier Baez? What does that have to do with his ceiling? What does that have to do with his bat speed? Or the fact that virtually any talking head is absurdly high on him, therefore fans are getting more and more excited about the prospect of him donning a Cubs uniform. Please explain to me what's so wrong about that? Why does that make somebody a 'homer'? That's fucking ignorant.

For the hell of it, let's just go ahead and say it was Lou Pinella's fault the Cubs didn't make the playoffs last year. And it was Ferguson Jenkins' fault that every stating pitcher not named Travis Wood underachieved last year. And if Mark Grace was our first baseman, then Harry Carey would've been resurrected from the dead and it would've made the WGN broadcasts more pleasant to watch.

All this conjecture is so ridiculous.

Its about being able to have simple conversations on a topic without it being turned into a theo sucks Ricketts cheap fest and if someone likes something their theo lovers and sheeps.. I mean seriously ?
This guy not on here to have baseball conversations, he trying to be like his pal boyd..

No one mentioned Theo or Ricketts.

It was simply pointed out that the HR was hit off a 32 year old career minor league pitcher in a 13-1 ballgame.

Yet you decided to whine about someone posting about Theo and Ricketts sucking. I mean seriously?
