That was my question too. How was Samardzija's contract paid out? Also, I think draft picks get their signing bonuses up front and then make their MiLB salaries but I'm not sure.

When you're basically paying him 3.3 mill a year its not that large of a risk or detriment on the to the MLB payroll.

If he's what he's labeled to be.. Great investment.

If he sucks. Gets axed without much of an issue.
