This is a rather weak signing. I don't see the point of it really.

@BruceMiles2112
Bruce Miles #Cubs GM Hoyer says DeJesus "does a lot of things very well": hits RHP, plays RF well, runs bases well, doesn't strike out a lot.

.280 AVG, doesnt steal enough to run the bases well, and who cares if he dont strike out much, if when he puts ball in play its a weak out

Yeah, it just seems like a waste of money. We have plenty of average players who could put up these kind of numbers. Why sign another one?

I think the Cubs are banking on a bounceback to his KC numbers. One year does not a player make.

There is a reason he played for KCR and OAK only and thats cause he a small market type of player. I just dont like the deal for the Cubs. I rather them sign a legit All star or just go young. Im just hoping this a piece in the puzzle like them trading Soriano :)

so basically a left handed Marlon Byrd LMAO AVG at everything... .280 hitter, 10 HR, 50 RBI and dont steal bases.

It's not like we're paying him 15 million dollars a year. We're paying him 4 million. 4 million for a left handed Byrd sounds good to me.

I never said we were paying him 15 million. You are reacting like we are, though. It's a good signing. A very good signing, actually. We got a player who is worth about 10 million a year for less than half of what he is worth. That's a fantastic signing.

He doesnt improve the team now or in the future. Sorry but a .280 hitter, 10 HR 50 RBI is nothing to get excited about. Again Cubs just signing avg players to please you non-smart Cub Fans

I'm a non-smart Cub fan? I'm not the one who is using BA, HR, & RBI to say if a player is good or not.

I don't see why he isn't something to be excited about. He gives us value. Theoyer is showing that they are going to make smart moves & be wise with their money. That is certainly something to be ecstatic about. DeJesus certainly improves this team. I don't see how you can say that he doesn't.

How does he improve team over Fukudome last year? Fukudome had better OBP, DEF is about the same, they dont steal bases, they hit around same amount of HR. DeJesus gets more hits but takes less walks then Fukudome. They are the same type of player just DeJesusu making alot less. So doesnt improve team NOW or the FUTURURE! Also im not a huge fan in sabermetrics. You can find faults in all of them. Hard to find faults in stats like AVG, OBP,HR,RBI since they been around for 100+ years

  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Not too enthused right now, but hopefully bigger signings will occur.
