 wtf

I'm talking about a #3 or #4 prospect for most teams for a starting OF who's making next to nothing. We're talking about someone who's at best likely to be slightly above average for Schierholtz who was roughly an average MLB outfielder last year. What's the problem? I mean for god sake we've literally listened to months of people on this board bitching about how unreliable prospects are. What's the point in trading him for anything less than that? It's not like he's making some large some of money that he they need to move him. Are you suggesting they should trade him for a matt szczur who's a 4th/5th OF who's not even in the majors yet? I mean I'm not suggesting they can get an all star player for him or even a future all star but his season last year was comparable to Cespedis(.240/.294/.442 26 HRs 74 runs 80 RBIs 7 SB vs .251/.301/.470 21 HRs 56 runs 68 RBIs 6 SB). Cespedis is making substantially more money and admittedly he has a higher upside but the fact remains Schierholtz was a very solid player last season. Trumbo has more power but if you compare the two's triple slash you have .234/.294/.453 for Trumbo who was essentially worth Adam Eaton and Tyler Skaggs. Is it that hard to believe Schierholtz is worth a Skaggs level prospect?

Not really a fan of Trading 21 HR's and plugging in a hitter who has 4 in 259 career AB's.

No fringe prospect is worth taking a pointless step back.

If Kalish, Sweeney, Coghlan or Jackson were wrecking shop I would get it. But not the case.

Again just stupid short term flipping for questionable return talent.

Schierholtz is a platoon player. He is not getting anything in return better than a Vogelbach talent.

Now if this was about opening up CF for Bon and they want Rugg in RF full time and Lake in LF full time I could accept that. But Kalish?!?!? Dude is avg at best. If he was not an ex-BoSox player his name would not even come up.

He gets RF it is 100% a Theo boy move.

I agree trading Nate to open a slot for Kalish isn't really that appealing. But, they are almost assuredly going to trade him at the deadline if not now anyways. So, if they can get more of a premium player(again a #3/4 prospect from a team) now because off an injury and you feel that value is there then great. I think part of the reasoning would be to open up playing time for Bonifacio. Almost assuredly they want him to lead off and he's there best option. I'd personally be fine with them just moving Barney instead but if this makes it happen then that's fine too.

You're right. Buxton or nothing.

Are you able to actually reply to something that was said or can you only reply to comments with outlandish exaggerations?

Sweeney tweaked his leg. The team is going through some lumps in S/T. Kalish has value as injury depth in AAA. He is not justifying a gig with his bat.

It is really not about the return here. It is about a legit replacement ready to go before opening a roster spot. I for one wouldn't be butt hurt if Schierholtz signs anoter F/A deal or leaves the Cubs and they offer him so they get a comp pick. It doesn't have to be about a trade.

What did Dewey's post include that was an outlandish exaggeration?

Yea, that was a big shot. The pitch was a cookie, but he hit it a ton. Baez with a nice play in the field so far. Cano also looks good for the M's

OMG! I just filled the cup! Baez goes big fly after being down 0-2. He almost hit the scoreboard. He crushed that ball.

Either of those homers off major league pitchers?

Randy Wolf was the first ones for Baez and Olt. Olts second one was off another lefty. Olt 3 for 4 tonight with 3 RBI's and 2 homers. He is playing to make the team!

BTW, Jesus Montero looks like the most nonathletic baseball player I have ever seen,
