Injury Notes: Hendricks, Pence, Haniger, Treinen, A. Wood
June 29th, 2019 at 9:06pm CST • By Connor Byrne
The Cubs lost left-hander Cole Hamels to the injured list Friday, but there’s better news regarding fellow rotation stalwart Kyle Hendricks. The righty, who has been out two weeks because of shoulder inflammation, could return to the Cubs’ rotation as early as the upcoming week. It’s possible Hendricks will skip a rehab start and slot back into the team’s starting staff Tuesday, per Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times. If that happens, the Cubs could get two Hendricks starts before the All-Star break. That would be a boon for NL Central-leading Chicago, whose rotation looks especially shaky at the moment without Hamels and Hendricks. Both starters have enjoyed terrific seasons thus far, with Hendricks having pitched to a 3.36 ERA/3.48 FIP and posted 7.64 K/9 against 1.63 BB/9 in 88 1/3 innings.

Strop just drove over Puig with a fucking bus in the postgame. Called him stupid as **** or something like that. Lol. Puig is a *****, remember when every Sports center broadcast led off with his game highlights?
SportsCenter would get off on Puig missing a fly ball he should have caught in the first place, followed by throwing the runner out going to third.
That was back when they showed baseball highlights. Pre ESPNBA.

I hope this is not a rush job. But with the break pending it seems educated. I'm expecting a pitch limit.

Huge Lester fan...but IMO there are few things more lame in MLB than a pitcher getting upset at a hitter for celebrating a HR.

He wasn't mad at the batter. He's mad at the home plate ump.. and rightfully so.

I mean, he struck him out twice there...

Those were borderline pitches. But the ump needs to stay consistent with the strike zone.

It seems Jon struggles when he doesn't get the low strike calls. Let's hope the offense has a big day.
