Thursday 6:05 PM Arrieta (4-4) Gonzalez (4-2)
Friday 6:05 PM Wada (0-0) Roark?
Saturday 11:05 AM Hammel (4-2) Zimmerman?
Sunday 2:05 PM Hendricks? Jordan?

Just guessing on the starters that were currently listed as TBD

Zimmerman pitched last night ( Weds ) , shouldn't see him in series...

Jordan was in for Stras. (DL) Wed night in a 8-0 loss.

Tue was a DH Zimmerman and Scherzer pitched it.

So it should be Geo, Roark (Fister on DL), Zimmerman, Scherzer. They could flip the last 2 if they want to also. I'm expecting Zim to go short just because of the investment into Max.

Cubs need better quality back up options for the rotation. Nats are at 3/5ths and are still winning. Cards lost their ace and are leading baseball. Something to be said about having a strong pitching depth system.

K.. I know I saw Zimmerman on a stat line , thought it was for last night..

Cubs should be glad they haven't really needed to dig into their depth besides wada for wood, their barely .500 with what they have.. I agree, their not much if anything to choose from.. most likely wood and jackson are next in line if needed...

Hopefully we can take 2 of the 4. I'll take a split with the Nats. Hoping for more, but I gotta manage my expectations with this young team

I think reality is starting to seep in with this team and what they really are

Hopefully the Cubs can take at least 2

Which is a young, developing team that is going to hit rough patches and have ups and downs? I agree

Just saw that was his 33rd ground ball hit to the SS..

He needs to go back to hitting to RF again, for whatever reason he trying to pull everything lately..

2 runs isn't enough there
Nope.. had Gonzalez on the rope and throwing alot of pitches..

That was a big DP by castro..

Not expecting much in 2nd inning with Ross and Arrieta due up..
Hopefully the very least, they make him throw a few pitches and get the pitch count up more..

Why they needed to jump on Gonzalez in 1st when they had chance..
He gets his groove facing bottom 3 of order needing just 10 pitches , probably gonna be tough now rest of way..

Lake has a lot of energy in him last couple days, wondering if he taking this opportunity to seriously showcase himself to either stay up or get traded to a team that could use him more..

Are you questioning whether he is trying harder so he can be traded to play more than he has played on the Cubs, for whom he - - by this logic - didn't play his hardest for?

In other words, he wouldn't play his hardest to stick on the team, but he will to get traded from it?

No. I think he just has a little energy.

No. I think he just has a little energy.

I didn't say anything about him playing/trying harder or not ., or that he never plays hard...

Just noticed he has had a little more energy last 2 games then you normally see from him ..

Suggesting that maybe he pumped and taking opportunity to up his game so he can remain on roster when all the pieces return..

OR

Maybe he sees he might be the up and down guy when Denorfia returns, Baez rumored to come up with Bryant going to LF, Soler could be back in 2 weeks. .. he could be in the mindset of showcasing himself to other teams that might be able to use him more or need him to start for an injured player who could be out a while ..

Sometimes a player tends to up their game a little more when the opportunity comes and their tired of being bounced back n forth. .
