I think Nall gets cut and to practice squad....

I know we always say "but he will get poached if we try to sneak him on the PS". This time, I really believe it though. If the Bears risk cutting Nall, he will be on another team by the end of the day

Grasu and Burton are both getting cut

Please stop with the idiotic discussion of grasu being a fullback...hell with his "speed on the edge" why not make him an outside linebacker?

The position is too banged up to do this now, but my surprise cut was dion sims......now; I'll go with megapunt.

Which leads to surprise keepers....winslow and nall....and id also sa bray as a surprisebe keeper but i hope that doesn't happen as no interest in a 3rd qb

Should this be in green?

He has had a body of work that indicates he is not an NFL starting Lineman. Daniels, Kush and Whitehair all are capable of playing both Guard and Center making him completely replaceable.

Maybe they want to keep Daniels at one position all season (guard) and they simply do not like Kush at center. In that case, once Daniels takes Kush’s starting LG job, there would be no viable back up center.

The Bears could possibly go with 9 offensive lineman, and the only way i think Grasu makes the team. There are 7 locks:

Leno - LT
Massie - RT
Long - RG
Kush - Swing guard
Daniels - LG
Whitehair - C
Coward - Swing Tackle

And then you choose 2 out of the remaining 3:

Sowell - Swing Tackle
Morgan - Swing Guard
Grasu - back up C

I could see Grasu potentially beat out one of those two.

I'm actually more excited to see what players (OLB) get cut from other teams then i am what we do since i can pretty much guess who stays and goes for us. I'm just hoping R.Pace is waiting with anticipation as much as we are at which edge rushers get cut cause he's been pretty damn quiet about what he thinks about our OLB's.

I can not figure out why you think picking up a cut player is a solution to the OLB position. It's like placing a band aid over a gunshot wound and calling it good. They are cut for a reason. We aren't going to go dumpster diving and find some great starter quality OLB. The position is just going to suck this year and will likely be the reason the Bears don't win more then 6 games.

Coward at LT would be a complete disaster, which is why Sowell will make it. Daniels could still play center if needed for sure. Morgan can still go to PS. So Grasu would be #9 most likely. I would have preferred Watford to Grasu there; I don't think Grasu is going to make it.

Daniels and Whitehair can both play center, even Kush so Grasu is not needed. There is no room for him. You want players that can play multiple positions and Grasu only has one position that he plays.

Maybe I am missing something, but I think Grasu is cut. What has he done since joining the team? Collect a check. The sooner we get rid of him the better off we will be.

Speaking of cuts, maybe Coward thinks about cutting his dreads after this:

Good Lord. Sad that you have only sand between your ears.

Tell me what Mike Burton can do better than Grasu?

Does Mike Burton line up as a center or a guard? No, he would be worse as an offensive lineman than Grasu, which is saying something.

Is Mike Burton some receiving genuis? No, he has 8 more career NFL receptions than Grasu.

Is Mike Burton a better blocker in space than Grasu? No, the one thing that Grasu is good at is blocking in space and he is athletic enough to block from the extra yard difference between where a FB and a center play. He is also 60 lbs heavier which will make him a more devastating blocker than Burton.

So ... if the Bears keep a true FB (Which I stated in my original post), Grasu would be better at FB than Mike Burton.

Grasu isn't even good enough to play his natural position, a position he's presumably played most of his life yet you somehow think he can play FB better than a FB... That he can catch passes just as good... Burton has only caught eight passes in the NFL so his hands must not be much better than Grasu's, the same Grasu who hasn't been asked to catch the ball in god knows how long?

Bizarre thinking man...

Kush has played some center as well so he'd be our #1 backup at guard and center.

Well, take Denver as an example. During the game, the announcers were saying and pointing out that Denver has more good solid OLB pass rushers than they have roster spots. We could grab one of these solid young rushers if they cut them.

I cannot figure out how simple reading seems to fly right past you. When did i or anyone say it was gonna be our solution? It's called giving guys a tryout to see what they can do and you never know when one could come in and fit our system or take to our coaching and be just fine for just the season. It's happened before and will happen again. Then next year is when we find our solution....you know like i've been saying all along and talking about how strong the 2019 offseason is at edge rusher in free agency and the draft many many times.

Pay attention please.
