Barney is probably the best defensive MI in baseball. Whether or not he wins the Gold Glove doesn't matter to me.

I dunno, I've cared less and less about player awards for years now. I kinda just enjoy watching players. I don't like his bat, but man do I love Barney's glove work.

Crappy way for the streak to end but Rizzo has also saved an error on some occasions and Barney had that error reversed a few weeks ago...that's just baseball. It had to happen sometime.

Not sure if it'll translate into a Gold Glove, but here ya go...

He should get a Gold Glove. Dude was good. He also had a lot of spectacular plays and hard to get balls and made plays on them as well as the chip shots.

Barney was a first-time winner of a Fielding Bible Award, an honor that goes to one player at each position, regardless of league. The award is voted on by a panel of 10 baseball insiders that include Peter Gammons, Bill James, Joe Posnanski and Doug Glanville.

According to John Dewan, author of “The Fielding Bible, Volume III,” Barney led all second baseman in baseball with 28 runs saved, 17 more than his closest pursuer at second base, Dustin Pedroia of the Boston Red Sox. Pedroia won last year’s Fielding Bible Award winner at second.

Well nice to see Barney get some recongition. Again I have grown to think that having Barney batting 7th or 8th in the lineup could work with his glove.
