Dearest Mule,

What should I eat for brunch?

Yours Truly,

Painfully Hungry

P.S. Shoes are ***.

Thems fightin' words!

Why would you even start that shit Moomintroll? Casting aspersions and flinging arrows right into my heart? WTFever. We've already been down the whole "shoes are stupid" bullshit blustering meme in this thread so you are a day late and a dollar short on that tip.

Dearest Otter-haters,

No one bothered to ask those otters their side of the story. That's poor journalism and frankly, insulting to the intelligence of otters. Otters are smarter than a lot of humans. Just sayin'.

Otterly yours,

Mule

Dearest Hungry,

i hope you've eaten in the past 24 hours. I have been internet-free at a lake and unable to respond to even serious inquiries such as this for the past two days.

Also, I hope that whatever you ate included some poached eggs. That is always the right way to enjoy brunch.

Fastingly Yours,

Mule

So I guess if we are keeping score on atrocities, then we have:

Otters - 2

Humans - Eleventy Billion

hehehehe

There were otters, but they were elusive. I only found evidence of their meals on the dock in the morning: crayfish heads and claws. Oh and poops! Of course.

No fishing for fish, but my dad and I did use a crayfish trap and caught a few of those idiots and then let them go. There was one pretty big one with only one giant claw. This crayfish was the size of beer can.

It was hard to leave this morning, but I'll be going back in a month so that makes me happy. Thanks, Deep Lake, Washington, you were pretty great, aside from the brief hail storm. I just want to go back and swim and read and drink beer all day and eat terrible, processed snacks and look at birds and nature and shit!

Can I go with? Looks beautiful. Living down here in the flat lands, I miss mountains. I was born and raised for about 5 years in Utah, and I have fond memories of mountains. I would love to catch a crayfish, throw him on a hook and catch a nice smallmouth bass.

Now that sounds like a good plan.

I wish everyone could be there. It is very beautiful. Our family has owned the property for 30 years and it's so lovely there. We do have lots of room. I love living near mountains and water. There are no bass in that lake. Not many bass in southeastern BC either. Lots of trout, dolly vardens and sturgeons.

No one is allowed to catch otters though. Even if they attack an athlete.

My best friend is from Saskatchewan and she sometimes misses the prairie landscape and driving for hours with nothing but the horizon in sight.

I would love to not catch anything there. I have said it many times, and I will still say it in the future. A bad day of fishing beats a great day at work.

Once when fishing with Pops, we had otters yell at us. They knew better then to mess with us. The black bear skedaddled as well.

Your friend is Special person.

Don't be too hasty, she is buxom lady. Your favourite kind. Like, really, really, buxom, curvy and hot. And she does love living on the coast, with the mountains and water surrounding.

Otters are not usually aggressive. They are one of the more playful species of animals. They make snow slides in the winter just for fun.

Pics?

If she will be there, I will for sure show up. I would check her out. Even if she doesn't I would still go out there, if for nothing else, just to make you a little uncomfortable or just to make a surprise happen.

Seriously. Don't doubt me.
