Mmmmm... waffles.

Dear Muley,

What is your favorite recipe for waffles? I make them every Sunday and want to do something different, but easy.

Dearest Waffle-lover,

Sadly, I do not have a waffle iron and therefore I never make waffles. This brings me great sadness. To increase my happiness I go out for waffles to Cafe Medina, where they make the best waffles that come with a variety of amazing sauces, from the basic maple syrup to white chocolate pistachio and dark chocolate lavender.

I am pleased to know that you are a weekly waffle-maker. Keep up the good work!

Yours,

Muley

Firstly, that nail polish is fantastic. I need to re-polish my toenails and this has inspired me to buy a new colour. Those teal sparklers are real pretty, but the green you've got will go nicely with so many fine outfits and shoes. Natch.

Secondly, what did I say about otters? No eating! Certainly no grilling!! Am I making myself clear? Damn.

Thirdly, I could really use some waffles. Supra, can you get in the kitchen and whip some up? Awesome.

Eh...my wife prefers the magnetic nail polish.

They can be quite cheap (I believe Black and Decker makes 1 for 15-20 American dollaroos) - although the same one (I currently have) is kind of falling apart because I don't think they anticipated someone using it weekly. Mrs. Butterworth has a mix that does most of the work, but the addition of berries, pecans, and cinnamon can make the world of difference in sprucing up a "normal" batch. I don't know if they have Meijer's in Cannnnnananananda, but they make an apple butter syrup that is fantastic.

Although, you are correct - going to a good restaurant and letting someone else make them is fantastic as well.

Alton Brown's buttermilk waffle (and pancake) recipe is the shit. Hands down, easily the best I've had, and not hard to do at home. Just have to seperate the ingredients and mix them at the right time and then cook immediately. I have that B & D waffle maker as well. We like blueberry at our house, but we did do a banana's foster waffle recipe not long ago that was the shit.

I usually make them with/for the GF, so I can't go nuts with the dairy (which makes it real hard to find mixes) but I may have to look into it... because even if Alton looks like a zombie lately, the man's genius can't be denied.

You guys ruined it with saying it is going on your feet. Good job.

Grilled otters are delicious though. Also sauted baby seals for desert.

Sorry mule dunno how to make dem waffles. I actually do not know how to make any breakfast (outside of sausage egg and cheese sandwiches). I have some solid theories but no practical experience

I've learned the leap from theory to practice just takes trial and error when it comes to the culinary arts.

I was thinking more like when I saw the pic that the green would look striking against brown skin and that is what was mesmerizingly drawing me to it, lol.

**** off. It was implied from the get-go it was for my toes as I have stated before I only do my toenails. Catch the **** up and stop letting your peabrain wander. Nana and Mule are the ones who also do their fingernails. Also, why don't you stop chiming in on girly topics.

It is still a pretty color. I just don't have any attraction whatsoever to feet. so for me, I repeat for me, coloring your toe nails means jackshit. But still a pretty color.

Also, as far as waffles go I defer to one of my besties husband who likes to have us all come over for his infamous waffles on Sundays. It's the hardcore and time-comsuming "real" Belgian waffle batter recipe from The Joy of Cooking wherein the waffles are yeast based and also requires that eggs are separated and that eventually the whites are whipped until in peaks before folding into the wet ingredients. Sure, it takes time but they are SCRUMPTOUS!

Also, a good point. Though I am sometimes adventurous with toe shades there are lots of nail colours I avoid because of my skin tone. Also, my inner teen goth is often drawn to darker colours.

Oh. My. God. Those sound delicious. This is all prompting me to get a waffle iron. Or at least request one as a gift!

I baked some lemon tarts on Monday and man does it help to use a food processor in making pastry dough. I can't believe I used to be old school and do everything by hand always. I didn't even have a damn hand mixer. There are times when you can't rely on electrics and your own hands are the only way to get the job done. <===== And don't think I don't see that sentence can also apply in a sexual way. I am no idiot!

They really are. They're "Whole Paycheck" grocery shopping types so take those waffles and then add gobs of organic butter and Vermont maple syrup and they're really TO DIE FOR! I usually bypass the other toppings they put out like fruit, mascarpone, apricot preserves, etc. and just go old skool butter-syrup. He makes piles of them and then keeps them warm in the oven. . .damn I have a hankering for them now.

The kitchen: It's where men belong.
