Didn't have any interest in that dinosaur on this staff.....

Been out od nfl forever and hasn't coached in 3 years?

Hey man just link me to your love of Declan Doyle before the hire and I’ll respect it. Otherwise you know nothing like the rest of us.

I liked Shaw because of his experience but Johnson has earned the right to choose.

I figure that Ben Johnson has a specific way in mind to develop Caleb Williams and build the offense. My assumption is that he wants a unified front so to speak with that development and that maybe some of the other more experienced options were not in alignment with him on that process and how Johnson wanted to run things.
From what I’m gleaning, I think this is it. BJ wants to run his O. A couple other posters pointed out that he needed a dude to do the scouting. He wanted his number 1 to being Picard.

So this young buck is going to grind the tape and give him his notes. BJ is then going to be able to game plan. BJ is carefully putting together a staff that facilitates what he’s good at and covers up what he isn’t.

I like what I’m seeing.

Look see there is that face that’s what I’m talking about. I love you but your cringe is so strong.

It's literally hilarious that anyone cares to complain about Doyle. The head coach is the offensive coordinator so why does it matter who he wants as his assistant??

Please explain to me in detail why Doyle is the best OC available.

The OC of the Bears is not calling plays, not really sure what some thought was going to happen here. A coach with big time experience was not taking the job without calling plays. Allen is the veteran coach, we needed that on the defensive side and we got the best available.

So do you think they may have had to make Doyle the OC because Denver wouldn’t let him go? Just saying teams can block lateral moves but not promotions. Total speculation but we all know BJ is the real OC. This might be a name only promotion.
