Go ahead and run through the positives of hiring Doyle for me.
He’s good enough that he’s worked for Sean Payton on two different teams. Johnson told anyone that was listening that he’d need a smart grinder that would be willing to work long hours. Obviously, Ben wanted him.

Do you think you know more about this than Ben Johnson and Sean Payton?

I'm just going to assume that Shaw and Johnson had serious philosophical differences - possibly just on what Johnson wanted out of his OC in this position (ie, it's Johnson's offense, not Shaw's) or how to structure and run the offense/team, or all of the above.

Shaw hasn't coached in the NFL for nearly 20 years and hadn't coached at since 2022. So, I never thought that he was a slam dunk hire anyway.

Okay so go ahead and run through the resume positives of Doyle.

He can't possibly completely ignore that Cole Kmet exists like the last guy did.

That would be like hiring an offensive lineman as General Manager that completely ignores how bad the offensive line is like the last guy did.

Ben Johnson runs the offense. Dennis Allen runs the defense. Hightower runs special teams. Dont get it twisted Johnson is not going to tell Allen what he wants o. Defense lol.

We also needed an OC that wasn't hungry to call plays. This sounds like a good hire the deeper I dig on it. But DA for DC is the big news here.

Why?

It's not about who he has worked with, it's about needed experience.

Greg Gabriel said people who worked with him called him a “whiz kid”. Do with that as you will.

Cool but we have that in Johnson I wanted a leader but who knows

The handwringing over Declan Doyle is hilarious.

I don't a crap how good of an offensive coordinator Declan Doyle is. I give a crap how good Declan Doyle is at being Ben Johnson's secretary.

The Dennis Allen hire is far more important
