I've joined the "I'm over Kirk Hinrich" crowd. I want him regulated to 3rd PG.

You're nicer than me. I want him to land on the coaching staff.

Nah, he'll teach players how to do nothing, and get big minutes with his method.
We will be the grittiest team with the best intangibles. Unfortunately, we'll also have no stats other than fouls.

All jokes aside, I think Kirk could be a good assistant coach. Brad Miller too.

I've never really thought of Brad Miller as the coaching type, but now that I think about it, he could definitely teach some big men a thing or two.

He would be a poor-man's Bill Laimbeer, who has turned out to be an excellent coach. Loads of attention to detail, and very good at spreading information/interpreting rules.

I think every fan needs to finally accept that Hinrich will be with the Bulls organization for the rest of his career in some shape or form. Whether it's playing, coaching, or joining the FO, #12 will always be a part of the Bulls family. Bank on it.

And there is nothing wrong with that. He's been good to this team, just not good in his twilight as a player.

Completely agree. As Clone can attest to, I've been basically one of a handful of Hinrich supporters on here for years now. But in this era of dissecting play with a calculator, if you don't have eye-popping stats, fans instantly assume a player is garbage. Hinrich has done way more good for this franchise than bad.

lol man it felt like us vs the world on the old bullspocasters site on the topic on Hinrich. Especially with how Fred would rant up a storm about how he never drew fouls. Some eternity ago that was...

He technically has some sort of Bird Rights no trade clause. I guess he also has a trade kicker, but at that number, it's pretty negligible. That being said, I doubt Hinrich would enact the no trade clause he has. It's not like he'll be getting more money via those Bird Rights anyway at this stage of his career.

He has a "Bird rights veto power", but it really wouldn't affect a trade in his case cuz he on a two year deal. Usually, it's a 1 year contract where it can affect the player. Furthermore, Kirk has a player option next year and would likely opt out of the contract, thus making it a 1 year deal for Denver in a way.

Bird rights, Early Bird rights and Non-Bird rights are all mechanisms that allow teams to go above the salary cap to retain their own players. Trades usually have no effect on those rights, but that’s not the case with players on one-year contracts. A team that acquires a player on a one-year deal via trade can’t use any form of Bird rights to re-sign that player the following offseason.

The player often stands to lose financially in such a case, so the NBA allows players on one-year contracts to block trades. Despite this, some players allow trades to go through anyway, as Marreese Speights did last year when the Grizzlies sent him to the Cavaliers.

put it this way i'd be shocked if he wavied that clause

if he did then thats a real team player doing what best for the team even if it means replacing you and sending you to a lottery team lol (Colorado has legal weed tho...so thats a plus)

but with Hinrich you can add Bairstow+Snell+Nazr and i think it would work...thats an ideal trade for us

Rose/Brooks
Afflalo/Moore
Butler/Dunleavy/McDermott
Noah/Nikola
Gasol/Taj

Yes, but he won't contribute this year, which is what people are looking for, especially since the window for this team reaching the Finals... this may be it this year.

He contributed 9 points in 4 minutes the other night. :dunno: However, he won't contribute if Thib's doesn't play him.

Right, the argument is that Kirk would have to accept the trade. That is what a no-trade clause is. Funny term, because no-trade doesn't mean no- trading, just that the player has to waive their clause.
