I think teams have been gameplanning for Gordon when they played the Bulls for the last sevreral years. This year hasn't been any different. They plan to stop the backcourt first and foremost.

I think nevertheless that Rose has been just as valuable as Gordon on the offensive end because of his wilingness to run which makes teams not crash the offensive boards quite as much, as well as his driving to the hole and his ability to pass. On the defensive end though, he's given up some of that value. There's no reason to think he won't eb significantly better next year.

I absolutely think Rose will be better next year, much better. All-star good most likely. However, offensively, he has one of hte lowest true shooting percentages on the team. Despite his high FG% a possession that Derrick takes offensively yields less points than almost every other player on the team.

Granted, most other players aren't creating their own shot like Derrick is, so it's not entirely a fair comparison.

Plus, Doug, Rose gets bumped and no foul gets called.

In any case, in spite of the offensive efficiency stats teams really don't want Rose to take lots of shots, they'd rather get the ball out of his hands. So that low % isn't being treated as such by opposing teams.

You're probably right, Gordon was more valuable this year than rose, especially considering Rose's defense and the lack of respect he gets from the refs.

Well I am not shocked that he is getting one, it was bound to happen. I am a little shocked that he would get one before other players though. Cough cough Doug Wilson. Stupid Doug stop working for the Sharks will yah.

The old sensitive Chelios topic.

I'm going to be on of the first to admit it. I'm soooo over it. Have been for years. Moved on long ago. Gotta say Chelios was one of my favs growing up. I think some of you older guys take the Chelios shit a little harder than us younger bloke. You have more players to idolize having gone through more seasons and eras than us young blokes. I can't toss Chelios aside because as a Hawk he brings back a lot of memories for me. He was part of a Hawks era for me that really built up my love for the team. I enjoyed watching him play too much. I was upset too when he lied and hit Detroit but I am sooo over it.

It's deserving I think that he gets a heritage night. For those who don't like it you can suck it up. Enjoy the mixed emotions of the night it will be interesting if not anything else.

You knew they would do it for him. They will give one for everyone. I can't wait for the Jeff Hackett, Kyle Vandenbusche and James Black heritage night.

And he will probably get some boos whenever this takes place. Hate that their doing this; why can't they wait a few years until he is potentially not working for the wangs. He just retired a month ago.
