Is Wilson a 1st ballot Hall Of Famer? Well, obviously not, so maybe that's the reasoning. OR they just wanted to get it out of the was as soon as possible? After the offer sheet methinks Wilson will be waiting a long time.

And Jim, JR is not universally loved.
HAHA I forgot about the offer sheet. Funny Tallons best buddy fucked with the Hawks. Not. Chelios is a 1st ballot HOFer from another team. Not the Hawks.

Bullshit. He's almost exactly like JR. In fact JR has stuck is foot in his mouth much more than Cheli ever did. In fact he pretty much told Hawk fans to **** off TWICE in this past years playoffs. Once while we were playing the Sharks and another why Phili.

Maybe you missed them both. Or maybe you've missed the numerous times JR has pretty much slapped Hawks fans in the face over the years, with his idiotic, ill thought comments?
Yea I remember an interview with JR on Waddle and Silvy and he pretty much bashed the Hawks then acted like it was a joke.

Yup and said "I thought they'd win all along".

JR is a nice guy, and so is Chelios. Unfortunately their actions speak louder most times.

He didn't get booed his last game with the Sharks and he didn't get booed on his Heritage Night.

He is NOT hated by Hawk fans, despite his big mouth.

I remember what he said... Waddle and Silvy asked him who he was ROOTING for on the WCF and he said SJ. I mean, at least he's honest.

I didn't watch hockey back when Roenick, played for the Hawks, but I think he is a tool from what I have seen. I would read how much some fans liked and admired him which really confused me, because when ever I have seem him he behaves like a total jackass. Always seems to say or imply something unflattering about the Blackhawks. There were a couple times during the playoffs last year when I wanted to pinch his head off. I couldn't figure out if he was crying cause the Flyers lost or because he was feeling sorry for himself.

Speak for yourself and not others Jim. He's not hated by you, a Hawk fan.

There were boos at both of those as well. And there were ALWAYS boos everytime he played her on another team. Always.

Re: Cheli gets a heritage night?!??!?!?!?!

And while some will entertain the #7 retired in the future, here are some other notable 'Hawks who wore #7:

Doug Bentley (albeit for a brief time during his 'Hawks Tenure)

Phil Esposito

Pit Martin

Everett Sanipass (LOL).

In all honesty, Pit Martin probably had done more in his tenure as #7 for the 'Hawks than Chelios...though I do expect Seabs to surpass him after his 15 year extension with the 'Hawks is completed.

But years 3-15 will be $1 mill each, so as to not make it look that bad.

He came to my high school and wanted to talk to my senior class of hockey players to come play for him at some college the following fall. Never seen any of us play but came to tell us to come play for him.

I dislike Chelios because he's a douchebag. I didn't like how he said he'd never play for the Wangs and was traded there, and I hated how he was giving Kaner too many cross checks to the back a few years ago.

I was not even a thought yet when he wore the Indian Head, but that goes down as one of the worst trades in NHL history.

Re: Cheli gets a heritage night?!??!?!?!?!

The old timers remember how good Cheli was and have every right to boo.

I myself will be rocking the Cheli jersey one more time that night.

Let me remind all the young pups who only saw him play as a Wing, he won 2 Noris with the Hawks.
