Why does this idea of acquiring Watson remind me of the movie “Draft Day”? And not in a good way. We’re wanting to be Seattle in this scenario, getting fleeced hard...

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
why would he choose the bears?
Is it because he respects Pace for picking Mitch over him?
Is it because Nagys awesome trick plays?
Is it because our Great OL?
Is it because we dont currently have a #1 WR?
Is it because all of our current position coaches seem to be jumping ship?

Its great to think what if.. But i dont see this ever happening
Personally, I'd like to see Nagy's offense with an actual QB.

am just going by espn

Watson, who signed a four-year, $156 million contract extension in September, is under contract through the 2025 season. He has a no-trade clause, but given the length of his contract and the possibility of franchise-tagging him for three years, the Texans could choose not to trade him and would have control of his rights through the 2028 season.

So Deshaun has said he doesn’t want to play there anymore.........and ESPN Said the Texans could keep him so nobody else could have him? What do you think the player thinks about that? What if he retires?

Besides all the other reasons we are not a destination for Watson, consider the capital involved. We're picking 20th so we're already a 1st round choice behind the Jets and Miami etc. So that's2 1sts and probably 3 etc. You would expect 2 1s from those other teams to have more value than 3 of ours so I'm actually understating here. That means no new LT and not much star potential to help Watson after the fact for years. He's no dummy. Why would he go for that. Jets can give 2 1s before ours in this draft and be done with it.
We are a destination until DeShuan says we aren’t

Maybe he'll look at Chicago and see them as a team that could hire Eric Bieniemy next year.
So Pace would be telling Watson that he will be playing under his 4th offensive coordinator......next year?

I was initially against emptying the cupboard for Watson, but the more I think about it...fuck it. Not like all the picks are going to amount to anything with Pace drafting. Watson can get you 4 TD's by himself. If you role a half way decent defense out there you will win a lot of games. I think it's a pipe dream #1 Miami and the NY Jets have way more to offer and financially Chicago would have to make some moves. I'd go all in though.

I had ESPN on for a while.. They were discussing the possible landing spots for Watson..

They never mentioned Chicago until one of them asked..
"What if he absolutely refused to play for a team, say Chicago"

Would Champ Kelly be in the position he’s in as one of Ryan Pace’s right hand guys if Pace were racist?

Your racism accusations are annoying af. You should stop.

Ok serious now.

What does getting DeShaun do for the Bears? I’m not saying not to do it if we can.

The OL still sucks. Houston’s sucked too and Watson lit it up.

We’d still have that idiot Nagy in charge.

What’s their record with Watson? 10-6?

I don't know who the coordinator will be if Nagy is fired and replaced with Bieniemy, but he certainly shouldn't phrase it that way.

Getting Watson makes the Bears better. Getting Watson makes the offensive line better. Getting Watson makes the play calling better. They'd would have been on the road in Washington in the playoffs.

This isn't difficult.
