That would really depend on how the scouts and the front office feels about him, not us fans. If they figure that he's improved, they'll give him arbitration. If not, they can probably non-tender him and keep him in the system. It's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

if anyone thinks he deserves arb they do not know baseball

20 pitches. Hopefully this doesn't mean a short outing.

They most likely non-tender Ian Stewart if what he has done is an indication of how he finishes. But the season's only a third done, if he can go on a tear, there's some incentive for them to keep him in the system and offer arbitration. I don't know that it's the best thing to do, but it's not unreasonable.

Can we sum up this whole Stewart thing and just move on at this point:
People who hate Stewart:
*He has a low batting average
*He has a low batting average
*He has a low batting average

People who don't hate Stewart:
*He has put up a solid season at a young age in the majors
*He has a lot of peripherals pointing to his numbers going up in the future (which has been happening btw)
*He has been struggling with a wrist injury for two years and we know how that can affect hitting

Ian Stewart is going to be on the roster through 2012. People smarter than us will than make the call on whether he is here in 2013. That take care of everyone?

Also his DEF is overated
2012 Regular Season MLB Baseball 3B Fielding Statistics - Major League Baseball - ESPN

Not even in top 10 3B in E. So if you cant be top 5 in your position fielding you cant suck at hitting like him. Just not E his fielding% sucks and so does range factor.. So he just sucks as a MLB baseball player

Okay are you really arguing that he is bad defensively?

Stats prove he not been very good this year

Just not E but his fielding % and range factor SUCKS. Not even top 10 in either

Shit A-ram has less E and better Fielding %... A-ram range factor rarely worse then Stewart. So there are the stats that shows he basically A-ram playing 3B with No bat

He does make the great play more then A-ram but messes up the simple plays more then he should

You know how I feel about defensive statistics. They aren't that useful to be honest. Defensive stats are far behind offensive statistics. So are you seriously telling me that you think Stewart is a bad defensive 3B?

Surprised LaHair didn't strike out earlier in the AB or at least try to punish a couple of these...

Im just showing you the stats.... According to the stats he bottome halve of 3B in the MLB. He has made the good plays but honestly i think he is overated. His DEF doesnt even come close for making up for his god awfull bat. Also an E was just taken away from him in MIN.

Okay so basically it comes back down to the fact that he has a low batting average. Unless you really think he is a poor defensive 3B.

Its just not low BA. its also low OBP, HR total not good enough for that low of BA, its the fact he overated at 3B as i have proven. I dont think he sucks at 3B but i think people act like he a gold glover and he is not. Not even close. He prolly avg to a bit above avg. Thats it. Nothing to make it where he should be playing everday just cause of his glove like Sveum has said. He just a shitty MLB 3B. Honestly shouldnt even be in the league.
