I got a traffic citation for driving in the left hand lane? At midnight? As I was switching lanes? Anyone else ever get a ticket for this?

I need a new car, mine's way too noticeable. I passed a couple cars, was doing close to 70. An unmarked cop comes into the lane next to me on the right and starts trying to pace me. I tap the brake to come off cruise control, he speeds way up ahead of me. There are trucks around the bend that I can't tell what lane they're in, so I stay left. The cop pulls over to the shoulder. I pass him, he pulls behind me. I turn my signal on to move over a lane to the right. He pulled me over. Seems legit.

Tough break. Sounds like a typical pig to me. Perhaps this will be helpful for your spirits: http://www.myfoxchicago.com/story/26577263/nj-police-car-crashes-into-dunkin-donuts

LOL, that's fucking hilarious, especially after I've been getting pulled over at an incredible rate lately on my way home from work. I'm sure the Indiana plates don't help. I wish I could get off this night shift. Just annoys me because I busted my ass at work and am just tired and trying to get home. The drive is already around an hour. And I'm not excessively speeding, I'm going with the flow of traffic, usually about 70 on cruise control. My car sticks out like a sore thumb though.

Looks like a bored pig got ya. Tough luck.

Yeah, and even tougher luck, same cop that pulled me over a week and a half ago for doing 73 or something like that. I knew I was getting a ticket since he gave me a warning last time. Like I said, 100% positive he recognized my car.

where was this exactly? I drive 75-80, always left lane, cruise control, and haven't been pulled over in years.

my wife got a ticket for driving under the speed limit on approach to a tollbooth in oklahoma. pretty sure they pulled her over because she had slanty eyes. I would call it discrimination against a model minority, but oklahomans just don't like anyone who isn't related to them.

294, right near the Alsip water tower headed south. Highway patrol in all black car. Very tough to recognize as a cop at night. I knew it was a cop though, I just didn't think I'd get pulled over since I wasn't flying or anything.

This is the 4th time I've been pulled over in my last 8 days of work. The speeding warning, one because my headlight was out and they were looking for impaired drivers (warning), a speeding ticket 3 days ago in a speed trap between i-55 and i-294, and tonight. That other speeding ticket pissed me off because it drops from 55 to 45 and I was doing 60 because I'm thinking it's 55. I looked today for speed limit signs and they're hidden behind shrubbery and shit. Not to mention I wasn't going any faster than anyone else. I'm pretty sure the Indiana plates and bright white car with black tints and LEDs don't help.

Anything less than 35% in the front, I think. Mine are darker though. I got 20% up front, 5% in back. I'm pretty sure 20% used to be the limit up front and they changed it. I heard the back windows didn't matter, but they need to see the driver. Probably so they could racially profile properly.

The only ticket I ever received (in 19 years), the cop said, "Did you not see me following you for the past ten miles?". I said, "Yeah, but I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. That's why I didn't slam on the brakes or pull into the other lane." He got me for going 9 miles over the limit on I-10 in Florida.

The only time I was ticketed was for "using an electronic device while driving". I was at a stop light, resting my head on my hand. I told him so, showed him that my cell was in the glove box, and he still ticketed me. What can you do? Missing a day of work to challenge it would be more expensive.

I'm thinking of challenging this one. My friends a lawyer, I'll ask for his advice. He already told me to go back and check for the speed sign on the speeding ticket a few days ago. Told me if there wasn't one I'd have a case and he'd represent me. I'll see what he says about this one. I had literally just merged into the next lane when the cop then flipped on his lights. I didn't even think I had done anything wrong. I'm probably going to invest in one of those bad ass $400 radar detectors. It seems like more of a cost saving option with how much I've been getting pulled over than it was 2 weeks ago when I was looking into it.
