I've never even heard of cherry oak, my tree is actually a black walnut.

perhaps cherry bark or some sort of red oak he just called cherry?? massive tree..think guy said something about possibly being veneer grade?? friend may have exaggerated the price.. but he had no need to, so i took his word for it...

I have a mature Walnut tree in my front yard that yes it dumps a load of nuts in my front yard. Most years it will take about 45 minutes to pick them all up so I can mow. I went out yesterday thinking I'd pick them up and mow but it got dark and I probably still need another hour to finish picking them all up, grrr. I have one neighbor that keeps telling me I could get a lot of money for the tree. He did get me thinking about making that call.

Sell it use half the money to buy a nice healthy sized tree that doesn't drop shit all over the place, and use the other half of the money to buy some walnut furniture!! =)

Walnut is in high demand now and getting harder to find. I'm sure Black Walnut even more so.
I bet you could get quite a bit for it. Why not get a free estimate on it?

My neighbors would shit if I took it down, I live on the corner of a Walnut St. but I'd probably cut it down if I could get 10 thousand for it.

Replanting a nice tree...good idea Burque.

37 years old... theres only one layer of lino that i can see.. it was last updated sometime in the 90s or early 00 with a 90s lino my mom had back in the usa.. the carpet in the house is probably from the 00s too, but was in perfect condition so we kept that while our kid is still young and in trash shit mode.. the old woman who use to own this lived by herself and seemed to be a neat freak.. had kids who had been long gone.. the house itself was near mint condition, the ducted aircon was only 5 years old, garage door unit about the same etc etc.. there only a few things i things that actually need repair or replaced, such as some flashing here and there.... its basically about updating for us..

im gonna go see if i can pull off some skirting boards without damaging them.. if not, to the hardware store to by new ones..if i can save the boards and not have to waste time going to the store... i may start ripping lino today.. good vet day off yesterday.. feeling fresh...

lino came up fairly easy..there were only a couple of spots i needed the multi tool for.. multi tool worked like a charm... found some original mint condition but shitty cork tiles in the kitchen... gonna lay over them like the last ppl.. they actually leveled the concrete elsewhere as to not have to rip up that cork shit which is a pain in the ass to get up..floor is level, no repairs needed....

the skirting boards were put in too well... i cant budge them at all without pulling at the drywall.. tried a paint scraper and a demo tool made for it..but nada.. so scotia trim it is :\

put down plastic and foam underlay and some floor.. a full day tomar and i may be able to finsih it.. i do all my work solo.. so it takes some time..

ok, been trying to get some of the random shit I have stacked up at home taken care of. Not been very motivated lately, but I am trying to take care of a few things every week.

Last weekend I hung a couple of lights that needed to be put up, and fixed another light that hadn't worked in awhile (Had to replace the socket)

I also got the pleasure of pulling weeds for an hour and a half or so.... In January.

Been working on getting some stuff packed and moved out of the house, took three boxes of old books to the goodwill (Usually take them to the animal shelter's thrift store but they don't take donations on Sunday, which is stupid, so goodwill it was.) Got plenty more where that came from.

Read a book called the art of decluttering and me and the fiance are working on getting rid of crap we never use. We are by no stretch even close to hoarders, but we still are Americans and have a bunch of shit that we never use. hopefully not much longer.

This weekend, or yesterday, not sure which someone dented the rear quarter panel on my truck. Not bad enough that it crinkled up, but bad enough that it it a very obvious dent.

Assholes around my city steal shit, smash shit and then run off without leaving a note. One of the least responsible places to live in the country if you ask me.

So, needless to say I have to get it fixed on my own dime, I have uninsured/unidentified motorist coverage, if you don't you are stupid around here, but I have a $500 deductible.

So the question is, anyone have any luck popping out a dent themselves? Any tips or ideas? Or should I just suck it up and go to the pop a dent guys? I have heard they can do a pretty good job.

If I am going to mess it up trying to do it myself I would rather just take it in than make it worse, but I wasn't sure if anyone has had any sort of experience with this type of situation.
