I think what they are saying is that the guy at a certain position (outside the top 20) at say...Guard...isn't that much better at pick #27 (let's say the 3rd best Guard) vs. pick 44 (let's say the 6th Guard). I'm sure there will be guys at #21 that are rated/ranked a LOT higher than guys at #60, but within each position there isn't that much separation. That's what I'm hearing. Bodes well for us with four picks in the top 72.And I love that we have two in a row in the 2nd. I hope they just take those picks and don't trade down.

Seattle would probably love to add Jeanty or the #1 OT on their board if he is there.
Falcons could want defensive help. I have seen mocks where Mason Graham or Will Johnson drop to #10. The Bears would smart to trade down and pick up another 2nd or 3rd rounder to help fill out this roster.

Problem is that someone has to want to trade up AND has to be worth the risk of trading down for the Bears.

We all want to say "Trade up or Trade Down" but there has to be another team on the end of that trade. It's not always that simple. Plus, anyone wanting to "Trade Up" to #10 is probably a team that is already on the verge of being Playoff ready or is a perenial playoff team. So, that means that their draft capital for moving up isn't going to be great because their picks will always be in the later half of the round(s)

The "it takes another team that wants to trade" argument is common sense, as for it being worth it to trade down on the other hand... In my opinion there is no player in this draft worth more than the opportunity to pick up fair trade compensation.

This team is full of holes so barring trading completely out of the first or taking a bunch of future picks that aren't in this draft, the Bears should be willing to move down.

I would say Carter and Graham are worth it. Past that, I agree.

Carter.... Maybe. Graham I think is a bit overrated, he would definitely improve the team but there are lots of really good DTs in this draft.

I think if either is there the Bears just have more of an opportunity to get a mini haul and fix the weakest area of this team.

If Graham is overrated I don't think he's going to get a mini haul. Carter 99% won't be there at 10.

I agree that there are lots of solid DL prospects.

I would hope someone else would bite on the hype and even picking up an extra late 2nd or 3rd rounder would be very beneficial to the Bears.

This draft really falls off after the 3rd round and the Bears should take advantage of the opportunity to boost their four top 100 picks to five or six if possible.

Whoa, Graham is overrated? He was the only defensive linemen in College to post a grade of 80+ both against the run and against the pass. The kid is all word and honestly, he if he was in the same draft as Jalen Carter was, he would have gone over Carter.

Graham is a guy you plug in the middle and in 13 years we are still saying "Damn, he still has it".

Devil's advocate (and BTW love you have Michigan as a favorite team) isn't that most drafts? I mean the reality is after the 3rd round, pickings are usually slim and you are hoping you find a diamond in the rough or a player (Like Zinter from Michigan last year) that falls because of an injury.

While offensively, there may not be that "Wow" kind of player (the QB's are mid at best, WR is very questionable) the top 2 TE, we will be talking about for years (Loveland and Warren), defensive line is pretty great (Graham and Grant will be 10 year players, Walter Nolan and the kind from Kentucky and i think Carter out of Penn State, if in the right defense, is going to be a ROY candidate) and while the O-line may not have a HOF worthy player, it's quite deep.

This is a draft that 5 years from now, a team like the Bears with 4 picks in the first 100 spots, could really set a foundation for the next decade.
