Uh, we offered Deng a new contract and he wanted more than we offered. Had we kept Deng, we likely would have the same roster that everyone was bitching about for years! Why the **** would people criticize that trade now? :dunno:

It freed up the money that everyone wanted for a run at Melo, which EVERYONE wanted. Melo was a pussy and the Bulls still put together a pretty good off season. But what do some Bulls fans do? They ***** about trading Deng for nothing. WTF!

nobody is bitching about the trade...i think we all agree it was time to move on

but as far as value Bulls didn't get anything for him unless the pick comes into fruition

besides Deng is irreverent in regards to Korver really...that was a strawman from Rami

thats it, lets be done

Again, the main thing was to clear money, which waiving Bynum did for us. Let's not forget it could also bring us another 1st depending on what Sacramento does. But remember that we can also choose to swap 1st's with the Cavs, which very well could end up being a better pick than our 1st, considering the Cavs are only 21-20 right now.

That's potentially a lot compared to Deng walking at the end of the season for nothing.

look you saying what we got from the Deng trade is only helping my argument about Korver so it doesn't really matter either way to me

I'm tired of hearing about Korver too. He actually didn't play that great with the Bulls, imo. Definitely not like he is now. Just cuz he's fitting in well with ATL right now, people wanna ***** about him. The Bulls could have gotten their own Korver for much less money in McD. Noone knows how McD will develop at this point after 17 games at 11 min/game.

I happen to think that McD is going to be a pretty good weapon for us. Nothing that the negative people can say will prove me wrong either. As far as ATL, personally, I don't think their smallball will translate in the playoffs. ATL is hot now, but I think Wash will be the better team in the playoffs.

People are too quick to ***** about something way before it's time is my point.

Some people don't have the foresight to see a problem until after it is too late.

I can't disagree with your statement. However, some can't anticipate the future as well. We don't know how we'll be shooting by the playoffs either. I happen to think Dunn and McD will help a lot by then. I do know the play right now does not dictate how the Bulls will be playing by the playoffs. It's pretty early to throw the towel in is my point.

Even with Noah and McBuckets healthy, the Bulls get handled by DC or ATL in a playoff series. All you have is the hope of an ill-informed fan, which is ok as long as you're not telling people to shut up and buy into the Bulls hype on a discussion forum. It's possible to be a great fan, and be pragmatic about how good your team is (or isn't) at the same time.

You mean like you, telling everyone that the Bulls have no chance?

1. I never said the team needs another "Superstar", but too many of you are content with cheering for a competitive team instead of trying to win it all.

2. I'm not on the "blow it all up" band wagon, but making moves to improve is what winning organizations do, there's a bunch of Bulls front office apologists on here that would rather "protect the future" than seize the day. I'm about championships not being happy they make it out the first round for a change.

3. I'm not in the mood to argue the good moves versus the bad moves of GarPax, so save it. We are dealing with right now, and right now the Bulls need to make a move to improve even if its just a player like Tayshaun Prince who can play defense and give Jimmy Butler a rest.

Korver didn't play well with the Bulls? Really? Korver could thank Thibs for improving the hell out of his game. Korver actually picked up his play with the Bulls and played a bit of defense. It was a big loss when they lost Korver, arguably the best three point shooter in the history of the NBA.

You can argue that Korver's Chicago years were his worst stretch with a team. He played "well" I suppose, but he's done better everywhere else he's played. He's played out of his mind in Atlanta. His defensive effort has always been there, but he is not, nor has he ever been a "good" defender.

Korver is very very very good...but idk about the best ever. I'm probably taking Steph Curry over him even though Korver's shooting a crazy percentage right now.

thats probably because he was the only real shooter we had

but he def had some good moments with us...most notably that 3 against Indy in the playoffs

In the Miami series he had Wade IN HIS PRIME guarding him on the perimeter. It wasn't that he didn't show up but that Wade shut him down consistently. As for the Philly series, the entire team played like crap after Rose got hurt because it killed all the positive momentum the team had.

When teams played the Bulls of a few years back, there were only two names on the opposing teams scouting report IN BOLD that were of major concern: Derrick Rose & Kyle Korver. People like to call Korver overrated but the reality is just the opposite. Every defender on the floor keys on Korver when he receives the ball. Teams have to game plan for him. Name me one other spot up shooter on the planet that that is done for. I bet you can't. Merely having Korver on the floor, opens up the game for everyone else. He's the deadliest shooter on the planet.

Giving away Korver for nothing was one of the dumber moves this franchise has done in years.
