Does Caleb Williams check down too much?

Na. He just played his 4th NFL game. The Bears are 2-2. He was efficient today and he already threw the 11th most passing yards in a game in team history. All this with one of the worst Oline and coaches in the league.

He’s gonna be a stud

Serious question, is he our new Kyle orton?
I don't think at this stage considering how dysfunctional the offense has been this season that he's going to be the guy chucking it deep often. I think baby steps are needed. lot of people were criticizing Swift starting going into the game, right? he reestablished running today and it made the offense flow better. I missed a portion of the game but I think Stafford got wrecked more than Williams, and the Rams offensive line isn't a porous patchwork piece of shit last I checked.

in other words Williams is going to need to probably do that and work his way up to setting up Da Vertical Pass(tm)

OP chose his side and is coming off as bitter right now
I will truly never understand people like this. Then again, it's a common theme in this country to have to hate on people because you're miserable.

How about we just lock up or delete this poor attempt at trolling and be done with it?

Some of y’all have never seen a Patrick Mahomes pass chart post-Tyreek era, and it shows.

Checking down and throwing within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage isn’t weak—It’s winning football. Pick and choose your spots.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
I guess Tom Brady was New England's Kyle Orton then, by your measure?

Because early on in Tom's career, and something he carried with him throughout his entire career, was his ability to absolutely carve you up underneath. He'd wreck the underneath, and then as soon as he lured the defense to start pressing closer to the line of scrimmage, he'd uncork a longer pass behind the defense to get their heads twisted and from that point, he'd own the other team the whole game.

Am I comparing Caleb to Tom, right now? No. But I AM saying that what you are seeing now is a similar style to what Belichick had Tom run early in his career.

Caleb is making all the right reads underneath. Let the man cook.
