Just sad, I'm watching the guy in washington put on a clinic this season while the guy in chicago is too busy fangirling over an old detroit bum.
Please link the post where you wanted to move on from Fields to draft Jayden Daniels.

Thanks.

Please link the post where anyone wanted to do that.

Seems like chicago drafted the wrong guy AGAIN!

I dont get paid to make the bears decisions, the guy who keeps drafting/signing shitty OL does.

MY worry is, if caleb cant even see the field at this point, cant throw past 20 yards, cant do anything besides check down to swift....
What will happen in october?!?

IMO, caleb held the ball and when he didnt he either took a sack or checked down to swift.

So we traded away a guy with 300+ total yards today for a guy who cant break 200 and is constantly checking it down?!?

I don't know what your game is but you used to be a rational poster. You didn't just pop up as a Fields fan to where you should hold a grudge with the posters on this board over him being gone.

Even if you became a Fields fan it's Poles you should be against. He's the one that screwed Fields over from Poles' first draft. He's the one that used Fields to get the picks to move on from Fields.
Other than that if you're a Bears fans first, accept that Williams is our QB, he's the one that needs to be great for the Bears to stop being perennial losers worse than the Browns.

But if you really want Fields or Daniels you are free to change the channel and post on their forums.

To answer your original question, no. Until other teams respect his check downs they won't stop rushing him to death. Waldron absolutely needs to do more of that and give him the Bagent treatment. Then after teams start worrying about the designed instant check downs burning their rushes you can try some legit long balls just like was tried with Bagent.
This is pretty basic football which I know you're capable of understanding. So again I don't know what your game is pretending you don't.

Seemed like most plays he had good protection. Both of the defensive holdings he had time, instead of letting it rip he took two sacks. I'm sure thats what his hero aaron rodgers would do.

Caleb just sat in the pocket and checked down a ton. Reminded my of kyler orton

I was amazed he stayed upright for as long as he did on some of those. I never bought into the TTT made up stat. If the QB can take 20 minutes in the pocket they should. Dumping off in 2 seconds isn't going to make anyone more open.

With the amount of calls that were on DPI I would start asking how much was going on that wasn't called. Need to wait for the 22 to see if the QB is blind to something.

I don't think at this stage considering how dysfunctional the offense has been this season that he's going to be the guy chucking it deep often. I think baby steps are needed. lot of people were criticizing Swift starting going into the game, right? he reestablished running today and it made the offense flow better. I missed a portion of the game but I think Stafford got wrecked more than Williams, and the Rams offensive line isn't a porous patchwork piece of shit last I checked.

in other words Williams is going to need to probably do that and work his way up to setting up Da Vertical Pass(tm)
No, Roschon tenderized the interior.

Swift did have a great game, but RJ was the catalyst that finally got the run game working. The hard yards, that get a front 7 sucking air.

I honestly think it was jenkins leaving.

It seems like the run game(and pass blocking) improved when tev went out and they moved pryor to LG.

I also am a clown who watched it live, so could be wrong.

I was kinda sad at the lack of roschon at the end tho, swift still is not a good RB even if he had a good game today. He's a guy like you said who they put out when there are easy holes to run through.

Swift is good in the receiving game, but he should not be getting carries on early downs.

I don't know if it was the DPI but there was a time or two I wondered why he didn't let it go on some flags that weren't on Bears.

I think DPI is more of a thing you let it rip when you see it to draw the flag. He's been pretty good at getting those calls.

I'd argue roschon is just as good. That play that got called back was impressive. Roschon has always been reliable in the pass game going back to college.

Why it shocked me they would rather play homer than him.

It was holding, and it was back to back plays. Both holds happened about 1-2 seconds before the sack. Caleb saw it but didnt let it rip, not really sure why. Then ate a sack.

Kinda weird since his hero is the best in the NFL of taking advantage of free plays
