He's going to be fine. It hasn't been one full season of this. He started slow last year as well and ended up hitting 40 bombs.

Out of curiosity what scouting or player eval are you guys pulling from to form opinions?

They arent, they form their opinions based on randomness. Theo has done some bad things. He has done some good. Ricketts is being a **** face, but people fail to realize this.

It's not about "opinions" on the prospects.

It's the thinking that the only way to build a strong team is to tank seasons to draft higher.

More speculation stated as fact....

Actually I've seen Baez a ton and have conversations with talent evaluators and people in the industry about him.

This is an opinion that is formed by seeing the player and talking to a lot of people about the player.

So, why are you complaining about not spending money on a message board? Shouldnt you write a stern letter to Ricketts. Its hit pocket book that isnt allowing spending.

i boycott wrigley field, stopped watching the cubs on tv, refuse to spend money on merchandise. i don't look at their box scores in the paper anymore. oh i look at the score and the standings to simply confirm what i already know. i don't even go to businesses in "wrigleyville" any longer. not until the cubs organization starts spending money to bring a championship home.

and i post here to convince you all to also do the same. the loser mentality that is endemic to this organization will not change unless we, the fans, take back our time and money to voice disapproval of this championship drought.

the bears at least try to win, so do the hawks, fire, sox, bulls. although, the whole shenanigans after the 6th title really, really pissed a lot of people off.

baseball is a tremendous sport, for spectators and participants. want winning baseball on the north side? then we're going to have to divest until it happens.

why should anyone spend money on this product? do you think the ricketts didn't notice that the 100-year wrigley celebration game had 30000 attend? in 2003 that game would be a sell-out.

**** face is an accurate assessment. How can someone sell himself to the masses as a fan, and then publicly state he will not spend to field a quality product during endless re-build?.

Yet, Jerry Reinsdorf has publicly stated he will put all WS profit straight back into payroll.

Sheesh, had the WS been playing at Wrigley for the past decade...they'd have 5 rings by now.

I didn't know you were so well connected.

Still just an opinion.

Mike Harkey, Ty Griffen, Brooks Klieshnick, Jackie Davidson... All can't miss prospects... I could go on, and on, and on....

still, these things need saying.

i'm hoping that the cubs don't ruin baseball for me. but if so, it's cool, there's always the san francisco giants. lol

Being the most profitable team in baseball while losing 200 games in 2 seasons has basically told the guy that knee-pad wearing blister lippers will still pay regardless of the crap him and boy blunder put on the field. The key though is to keep blaming it on not having a jumbo tron while promissing that the prospects will all one day be the next Babe Ruth. Blister lippers love that kinda talk....

5000 per game over the course of the season is approximately 400,000 less for a season.
Might be people wising up. Probably just that the weather sucks...

Then you would think that he would know to avoid writing about the future in absolutes as if they are already facts.

Its definitely not the only way but it is the quickest way...
They actually spoke briefly about this on CTL yesterday..

When your system is depleted as theirs was, the quickest way to strengthen it is by tanking a couple of seasons and getting high draft picks over the 15-18 picks along with the flips they did for prospects in return.

Obviously you need some FAs , ETC to join those top prospects to build a strong team...

And again. Why is this OK for some?

Why is tanking for a "maybe" OK.

The only thing actually guaranteed when you tank (for picks) is that you're going to suck while you're tanking.

No one really disagreeing that as a fan it doesn't suck to watch them purposely lose games to do what their doing.

Its just a matter of most just dont feel the need to whine about it on every thread and instead of constantly discussing about Theo sucks Ricketts sucks what they did or didn't do the last couple off seasons EtC ETC, we prefer to discuss what is actually going on on the field now, good and bad and discuss about their prospects good and bad.
Baseball stuff... not pissn and moaning about all things cubs every day on every thread..

Sure were pissed by the losing but their other things to discuss instead if just constantly complaining.
I mean if it bothers you that much, then you might as well just step away from the game until they improve. Including discussing them on message boards. not good for the blood pressure. ....
