Ah didn't read that part of it clearly I guess. Been a long day, daughter's birthday party.

Anyways 7th inning in Oklahoma City is finally done after the Red Hawks got 7 runs to take the lead.

Rizzo was up in the top of the eighth with 2 runners on and hit the first pitch into an inning ending double play.

Brett Jackson with another double, his 3rd extra-base hit of the night.

Well it has been talked about a lot here, but Josh Vitters is hot. Here is his slash line from the last ten games, .333/.400/.778. Most impressive has been that he has hit 5 homeruns, drawn 3 walks and only struck out 2 times. A little concerning is that the power surge has only been on the road, 8 road homeruns to 1 at home. The reason it is concerning is because a number of PCL parks are more power friendly than pre-humidor Coors, but Vitters should be reemerging on the radar as a serious prospect if he can continue to put up these numbers.

A monster HR on the first pitch Baez saw today coming off the bench, and consecutive defensive gems.

He's in Peoria :cubstroll:

Yeah but there was some talk that he might be just getting play in Peoria until the short season started, but given how he is doing there it seems like he is going to skip that level.

Jackson got on base, stole a base, then stranded, but I-Cubs got the tying run.

He still has a long way to go, but Baez appears to be something to be excited about.

#Cubs won't call up Anthony Rizzo for Interleague games in AL parks. Says Sveum: "Right now, there's no thought of it." Soriano to DH.

They def. waiting for that extra year of service. What worries me will they wait till he not super two?

At this point they probably will just wait. If your team is going to be crappy, saving that $10MM is appetizing. Also that $10MM that could've gone to Rizzo in an extra arb year now goes towards a premiere free agent. I wouldn't be surprised if he's held until that 86 day mark (after ASG most likely).

I think it's for this year. Starlin Castro is a Super Two and will start arb next year, the 86 days starts in the first of the three years preceding arbitration.

the way I read it made it seem like it was the year arbitration was earned. I could be wrong but the freezer immediately preceding season seems to indicate that to me.
