You've missed the point. And using jazz to make yours is lulzy.
No I didn't.

You said, "none of this is true" when I said jazz music is dead.

Of course I can go to some obscure Spotify channel and find jazz artists no one has heard of outside of their campy followers....but this discussion started off as music that could be played at the SB halftime show.

If the reason isn't that he's black, I'm pretty sure you're safe to say why you don't like him. Honestly you sound pretty stupid right now acting like you'd be risking something saying why you don't like him

I know it is a risk and I'm not going to say it because it'll "derail" the discussion toward "social issues" or whatever and the mods don't like that

Am I missing something? I don't think Snoop has even been vocal about any social issues.

Edit: apparently he has. I think the bigger issue is people like you who can't appreciate athletes or entertainers for what they do and somehow are so ultra focused on their other views

Jazz isn't pop. It hasn't been since big band.

Some views are too abhorrent to overlook.

but like I said, I was never a huge Snoop fan or a big fan of west coast rap in general. I was a big Nas, Big L, Jay-Z, Twista fan growing up.

Yes, this is what I'm talking about.

A top selling jazz album might sell 100k copies today, not exactly Taylor Swift numbers.

Not sure why you keep going back to availability when talking about popularity.

What about Gypsy Jazz or Electronic Jazz that's super popular right now.

Over 300 million views.

68 million views.

This is exactly my point. Jazz is not popular music and hasn't been for decades.

Whether rock music is dead...I've always defended that it's not, and it will make a comeback, but I'm starting to doubt that. Rock has been around 60 or 70 years....Jazz died after a similar run from the 10s to 60s.

It could be gone as we know it.

When it comes to music, you might be considered a basic ***** with takes like this. Maybe you're just being argumentative tho.

Yes. Fusion of jazz and hip-hop pops up every few years. Like US3 using Herbie Handcock Cantaloupe Island in the 90s.

How many of your bebop and funk fusion artists have a top 40 album?

That's the whole point. I'm saying this music isn't popular anymore and you're referencing artists that don't sell a lot records.

I'm not saying they suck, I like it....but it's not popular at all.

Mary J is easily the most talented one on stage...lol
without getting into the shit these artist done in their lives..you're wrong Althought, I do like some Mary J Blige tracks too, grew up on it all. BUT! Eminem is the world's best song writer and i barely listen to Eminem like that, but i know for damn sure that dude is killer, and this coming from someone that listens to underground gangsta shit like Chicago's own PsychoDrama, Twista, Freddie Gibbs, Twisted Insane, CWAL, Traxster, Triple Darkness, Concord Affiliated, MCG'z, etc. ...try it sometime.

yeah i disagree. she is talented but I've seen her three times and she can be pitchy af live, and wildly inconsistent. Snoop? he has so many various talents and is much more diverse. I've been to a couple handfuls of his shows and he always puts on a fantastic performance.
seen snoop when he came to Horseshoe in Hammond, it was worth it.
