we're keeping Stalberg? Ugh! Frolik yes, and Campoli I'm still ticked at for handing Burrows the game winner in game 7.

Stålberg is a decent player for what he is. And he'll be cheap. I don't get the hate people have for him. Obviously Q and Stan see something in him to keep him around. Who knows if he's a late bloomer, he had his first full season in the NHL last year and looked like he was finding a comfortable role for himself on the team. He can skate, is big and can cause a little havoc on the opponents D with that speed. For what he will probably get, he'll be a good complimentary player.

Campoli looked good and that unfortunate giveaway was more bad luck than a bad play. Usually you try to dump the puck along the boards instead of center ice and Burrows got lucky and caught it with his hand. Shit like that happens during games, this just happened in OT of game 7. Overall I thought Campoli's game was worth a second look and with Campbell gone his puckmoving skills will be even more important for the team.

Panthers GM Dale Tallon says he has acquired the negotiating rights to potential UFA Tomas Kopecky. Tallon thinks he can sign him before 7/1

I don't have a problem with Stalberg either. A cheap gamble in a sense. He can fly down the wings, and I really felt like he was starting to figure things out, especially the bottom 6 role.

What's the worst that can happen, he doesn't pan out or struggles...we sit a cheap salary and give a tougher rockford player a chance to fill that role...or we go trade deadline for more grit.

I like having extra bodies, helps with competition for those spots.

Stalberg I am willing to see him for one more year, no improvement bury him on Rockford or scratch his ass all season. Campoli, I cursed his name, hated him for a week and then let it go. The guy had to feel like absolute shit afterwards. I don't hold that play against him, I just hold it against their ***** of a GM who had to complain to win.

If Stahlberg has any chance of sticking next year he needs to dump #25.

It's a curse to wear that number in this organization.

Hasn't been one good player ever wear #25 here.

Campoli I liked. I wanted him resigned and I'll give him a pass for that misplay because if we hold him accountable for that, we have to hold Keith acountable for making the same play multiple times the past season...and we know Keith knows better.

Stalberg I don't get the milming of undershorts that top brass has for him. He's got speed...so did Jack Skille. He's got little else...Skille at least had somewhat of an edge. As of least season, he was a waste of a roster spot especially with the hard-on Q and Bowman had giving him cracks at the top line in which he constantly failed.

Cheap, yes, but unless he comes back with something other than skates of lightning/hands of stone/hockey sense of Karpotsev, I would rather see Morin and/or Makarov get a shot. I think both of them, and of course Ben Smith, shouldn't be denied a roster spot because Q is getting all Matt Walker about him.

And if he comes in next year and tears ass across the league, then I will gladly eat crow.

Uptown baby!
Skille had speed and ZERO fucking finish. That speed means nothing to me if he's a winger who can never hit the goddamn twine. I was clapping for joy like a giddy schoolgirl and grinning from ear to ear when I heard the news about his trade and what the Hawks got back for him---talk about a getting something sweet for a bag of pucks IMO. Enjoy Panthers nation---

Brouwer was on the Danny Mac show this am. A couple points on the interview...

-Watched game 7 of the SC final at a bar with Toews. Spoke in less than glowing terms about Canuck fans.

-When he got word he was traded, was at Keith's place with the BC Boys...Seabrook, Ladd, and Colin Fraser.

-Although they understand the business part of hockey and that "Stan is doing what is best for the team", some of the guys are disappointed of the turnover from the SC Cup team.

He also said he did'nt think he got fair treatment by not being played on the same line for more than 2 games.

He was more diplomatic than that and I don't recall him saying he did'nt think he got fair treatment. In the ballpark, but much more diplomatic. Also, he spit out the exact number of games he went scoreless to end the season as a reason for being on the bottom lines.

I could'nt remember how he phrased it. He was more diplomatic than the way I paraphrased , but yes he is a good guy and was'nt being bitter about anything the Hawks did.

Smart move on his end. He doesn't want to be burning any bridges.

Thoughts on these comments?

"You're not walking on eggshells around here," said Campbell, who was traded from the Hawks to the Panthers in June. "It's go play hockey (and) work hard. The best thing with Dale is you can say what you want to say and express your opinion and you're not walking around intimidated by anybody or scared to go out there and do anything. It's just a fun atmosphere."
